There are a number of hostels available to the students. All are built with great quality and architecture. There are single, double ,triple and four seaters available to different year students. Ac rooms are also available.

Read Full ReviewThapar provides the best hostel facilities. They provide 5-star hotel-like facilities. In the hostel, they have hostels according to the year in which the student is enrolled. They have double-sharing and single-sharing rooms. Single sharing rooms are of 2 types i.e. attached washroom and sharing washroom. They have Sodexo mess the facilities provided by Sodexo are great. The menu is decided by the mess committee and the food they provide is delicious. The process of registration is available on the Thapar website and the fee details are also provided on the Thapar website. the hostel Life of Thapar is amazing. The nature of the caretaker and warden is good and very helpful. They are always there for you and there is also a gym in the hostel which is very great. There is too much greenery in the hostel and they also organise hostel night and Diwali parties in the hostel.
Life on campus is very great. Hostels are very great. There is greenery in the campus. The annual fest of Thapar is Saturnalia. This is a very big fest of Thapar which is held in November every year. I am also a past of the Saturnalia team in the finance department. There are also many other societies as well. I am part of many clubs and also the gensec of the Paryavaran society. The library of Thapar is the best in India having so many books and ebooks. The classrooms are really great like a movie theater and there are sports clubs also and many sports tournaments also held in college and I was also part of the cricket team.
Read Full ReviewThere is average Wi-Fi connectivity in hostels. The meal provided is good and hygiene is maintained. The hostel registration process will be updated by email. You will get a Google form and accordingly, hostels are allotted. Also, hostels are on the basis of jee mains percentile/cgpa.
Annual fests are conducted in August and November month. The library has thousands of books available with multiple copies so you can easily have them. Classrooms have smart boards, good connectivity, and charging sockets so you can easily work on your laptops. There are many sports options here in Thapar and completions are held frequently. There are 40+ clubs for almost everything like robotics, dance, music, coding, etc.
Read Full ReviewThe fest and other celebrations are amazing. As we are freshers there is a club called the frosh team they conducted an entire course of events to welcome us which was great. And there are some events which are coming this October and also November. The library is GREAT it's huge and it has a wide variety of books. Classrooms are great accompanied by charging points with a projector it's amazing. Various competitions are also conducted. I guess there are more than 50 clubs and the recruitment in them is going on.

Read Full ReviewThe hostel rooms have all the necessary equipment that a normal room of a house has, AC, fan, window, plugs, bed, mattress, etc. The meal quality is very high and the menu is well planned and shuffled every week.
The annual fest is conducted during the start of the college and end of the college. The tech fests are conducted almost regularly. The library has 5 floors and is filled with books. Each book as least 7 to 8 copies so short of books is never a problem. The classrooms have all the necessary equipment that is required in a class. The sports sector is kept quite large.

Aside from this, Thapar University also has a central library called Navi Nalanda Central Library which is a very mesmerizing and aesthetic piece of infrastructure constructed with the help of internationally renowned architecture. The central library has a lot of books and journals available to students plus a very spacious sitting and reading area with tons of facilities like an RFID barcode security system, a Self-check-in and check-out system, and a self-book-return system with minimum human interference.

Thapar University has a huge campus around 250 acres. It has many big grounds. Sports equipments are always provided of good quality. Thapar has a good social life. Girl to boy ratio is also very good. Co-curricular activities are also very good. Books are available in the college library.

Life on campus is amazing. The infrastructure of Thapar is just great and the hostels are like 5-star hotels according to the fees of the college the facilities they provide are worth it the tech fest and the annual fest i.e. Saturnalia are great. it is conducted in the month of November and it is a day fest and many renowned people also come to perform. Thapar has a huge library it's amazing once you go there you never want to come back it's that amazing all the books are available there and the classrooms are very nice like theatre halls there are also many extracurricular activities going on and also a swimming pool there for students and many clubs are also there which are very valuable
Read Full ReviewGetting CSE in Thapar University with 72 in JEE Mains and 95% in CBSE will be difficult. For CSE, Thapar University cutoff stays around 96 percentile. If you want to join the institute, you should take a drop year and prepare for JEE Main again. The required cutoff changes year to year, depending on different factors. So, try to score above 130 in JEE Main, to be on the safe side.
M.E. or M.Tech students at Thapar University are eligible for AICTE approved stipend, provided they have valid GATE scores. For a course, Thapar University reserved 19 seats for GATE admission (General category). If you are in the top 19, you will receive a GATE stipend.
Students with valid GATE scores can also apply for additional scholarships. If you have a valid GATE score and you are receiving scholarships from AICTE or any other funding agency you can apply for an additional scholarship of INR 5,000 per month from TIET. If you have a valid GATE score and you are not getting funding from any agency, you will get a scholarship of INR 12,400 per month.
Students who aren’t GATE qualified, receive a scholarship of INR 10,000 per month for 10 months in an academic year.
One of my friends is a student at Thapar University, and here are some of the things that I heard from him. This is subjective and hence may vary from one person to another.
These are some of the things that you should keep in mind.
If you are a general category student you will need around 60% marks in 10+2 and 70+ marks in JEE Mains in order to get admission at Thapar University. If you have 80% in boards, you will need around 48+ percentile in JEE.
Thapar University cutoff usually stays lower than the NITs. The institute also has 50% reservation for Panjab domicile students. The cutoff required is lower for students from Panjab.

ECE at Thapar University is more Hardware orientated. You may find yourself dealing with semiconductors for about 3 to 3.5 years. In addition to this, will be the onslaught of programming languages and a little portion of database and networking.
In case you opt for the Computer Science program, you'll notice that it is purely software-oriented and has a lot more on programming languages, architectures, databases,, and networking.
ECE is the 2nd best option after CSE as its cut-off is just below it. This year, cut off score for ECE is as listed below:

As for placements, some well-known companies which visit for recruitment, are Texas Instruments, Whirlpool India, TCS, HP, Larsen and Toubro, ST Electronics, Philips, Mu Electronics India, and others. The placement rate is an amazing 99% for most of the departments. The highest package offered this year is 43 LPA and a total of 970 students got placed.
