₹ 51,600IET Lucknow is among the top-rated institutes in the country that is affiliated with Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) while MMM Gorakhpur has been reconstructed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
There is no such huge difference between IET Lucknow and MMM Gorakhpur. The quality of the faculties and the college infrastructure is good in both of these colleges. As per the GATE score and IES, the ratio of students of both of these colleges who qualify for the entrance exams is the same every year.
The main difference among both of these institutes lies in terms of placements. Here are the placement highlights.
Particulars | IET Lucknow | MMM Gorakhpur |
Highest CTC | INR 36 LPA | INR 8 LPA |
Average CTC | INR 5 LPA | INR 3.5 LPA |
Top recruiters | Amazon, Unacademy, D E Shaw & Co, Barclays, Code Nation, Go Speedy Go, Yamaha, Humming Wave, etc. | TCS, Infosys, Microsoft, Wipro, Juspay, Prism cement ltd, Global logic, etc. |
The difference seen in placements is due to the number of companies that visit the college, IET is near to NCR region and due to its location, it has better placements than MMMUT.
The main advantage of IET is its location (400-500 km from Delhi/Noida and a more functional airport) and coaching exposure for GATE, CAT, and other competitive exams. Teaching is essentially the same. MMMUT's facilities are far superior to those of IET. However, if you want to study CS/EC, choose IET (This is not to dismiss MMM's CS or EC; somewhat, MMM lacks exposure, which is essential for someone studying EC/CS).
The MMM is slightly less expensive than the IET Lucknow. They have an excellent library that may supply you with a free supply of relevant books. IET's library is worse than that of private colleges in UP. MMM has a much larger and more organized alumni base than the IET.
The MMM campus is large and lush with greenery. You'd have plenty of opportunities to "discuss" something with your classmates. Furthermore, the faculty at MMM is relatively progressive. Of course, this does not mean they will approve of anything, but they will generally tolerate certain things within limits. The faculty at IET is mostly upper caste and thus extremely regressive. They believe that it is the student's fault that they have not succeeded in their own lives.
One of my friends studied at IET and his experience was really good. Thus, I have a clear idea about IET and would suggest you opt for IET because of the reasons below.
IET Lucknow is the best option for students who are really keen to invest their time in their studies. It would be better to not go for the infrastructure and physical appearance, try to understand what institute provides better education. Do your own research, and choose wisely.
MMMUT Gorakhpur has a better coding culture compared to IET Lucknow. On campus, you will find many people who actively take part in competitive coding. The alumni of the institute have a good performance record in most of the competitive coding forums. If you are interested in coding, you will get guidance from your seniors.
MMMUT also offers decent facilities and resources to support and encourage the growing coding culture on campus.
Yes, IET Lucknow is better than MMMUT Gorakpur because IET is a part of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) hence it gets the advantage of AKTU MOU. Having a few friends from both the mentioned colleges, here are some tips for you.
Even though MMMUT Gorakhpur has been ranked #183 in the NIRF. There are some cons of choosing MMMUT Gorakhpur –
Particulars | IET Lucknow | MMMUT Gorakhpur |
Total fees | 3.14 to 4.04 Lakhs | 2.2 to 2.7 Lakhs |
Placement percent | 95% | 90% |
Highest salary | INR 37 LPA | INR 39 LPA |
Average salary | INR 7 LPA | INR 4.5 LPA |
Lowest salary | INR 4 LPA | INR 3 LPA |
Top recruiters | TCS, Mahindra, and Adobe | Microsoft India, Wipro, and Amazon |
However, make a wise decision after learning the actual situation at the colleges.
IET Lucknow, KNIT Sultanpur, and MMM Gorakhpur are the engineering institutes in Uttar Pradesh. The admission of MMM is on MET/ JEE Mains basis, whereas the other two are on the cut-off of UPSEE. According to some of the reviews online, I would suggest you go for IET Lucknow.
The fee and placement details are below.
Criteria | IET Lucknow | MMM Gorakhpur | KNIT Sultanpur |
Fee | INR 3.44 Lakhs | INR 3.45 Lakhs | INR 2.2 Lakhs |
Average Package | INR 14 LPA | INR 13 LPA | INR 6 LPA |
Highest Package | INR 25 LPA | INR 18 LPA | INR 12 LPA |
Overall, IET and MMM are the best institutes. The choice between the two depends upon your own interest and the return on investment. KNIT Sultanpur is a namesake Government college. It is not good compared to the others.
You can’t get a single hostel room at MMMUT in the first year, second year, and third year. Because the number of rooms is less than the number of students. You may get a double sharing room.
If you want a single room, you will need to find accommodation outside. But it’s better to live in the hostel. That way you can group study with your .friends. Staying on campus is also quite fun.
It is not easy to get into MMMUT and especially into engineering. In order for you to secure admission in Chemical Engineering, you need to earn a rank in the top 1300 or so and it gets tougher for getting into computer engineering.
Chemical engineering is the last branch of MMMUT. The criteria mentioned are for general category students.
So for computer engineering, your rank must be somewhere between 500 to 600- that means you have to score above 260 out of 600 to get into the institute. If you work hard and put in the right efforts, you can surely crack it.
Some of my friends studied at Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology (MMMUT). According to them, it is a very good university to pursue your studies.
You will grow in the field that you choose to do your graduation in. The college will certainly provide you with ample opportunities to take part in.
The location of the campus might be a bit of a problem as Gorakhpur has no direct flights or even trains on a daily basis from many parts of the country.
As for placements, the university is above average since many companies visit the campus to recruit many students. It is how you can make the best out of it. Comparatively, for B.Tech, the university is a good choice.
