I got a confirmed admission from HBTU, IIIT Bhagalpur and MMMUT among all the colleges I applied. I chose it over IIIT Bhagalpur as it is in my own city and in HBTU I was getting admission with OBC quota which I didn't wanted to use. The college admiis mainly dine through JEE Mains. The cutoff for CSE general is around 50000 AIR and fir SC it goes upto 2 Lakhs. It has separate counseling from its own website which opens around in mid of July. It is easy to apply.
The Computer Science and Engineering Branch curriculum includes Data Structure and Algorithm which is the biggest demand in industry today. It also includes web dev and oops with programming languages like c, cpp, java and python. This makes it very relevant to industry requirements and helps in placement if one has studied well during semesters. Curriculum can improve a bit by adding projects and prompt engineering in it which will make it more relevant. One semester has 3 exams and 1 practical minor1, minor2, practicals and major. The difficulty increases with each paper and scores of every paper os added in final result.
Companies start coming from the end of 3rd semester and students apply for them but one has to conplete his/her degree before joining the conpany. The average package of CSE is 11Lakh/annum and overall is 7Lakh. In recession the placements drop down a lot to only around 250 oncampus placements but otherwise the percentage is roughly 80 percent. The highest pacjage evergone is 52 Lakh per annum from CSE in Google which was offcampus. The Companies that visit include amazon, tcs, infosys.
For people who have taken admissions in 2023 our 1 year hostel + course fees is 1.2L but from 2024 onwards the hostel + course fees has increased to 1.95L resulting in 8 L for 4 years. There is an additional mess fees of 36 thousand a year. The government of Uttar Pradesh also provides a lot of scholarships for the students of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology. It is completely need based scholarship. For general category it is 57 thousand a year. For OBCs it is 63 thousand a year and for Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe it is 90 thousand a year. Everyone who wishes to avail this scholarship has to fill the detailed form submit and submit its copy in college. Economically Weak Certificate is a must requirement to avail this scholarship. It will be provided for all four years. There are a few more scholarships for the students from secind year onwards where some meritorious students secure a scholarship of 30 thousand a year. This is given to one person only in a branch.
We have around 30 societies and clubs in our college each organize their own events and fest. The main technical fest of our college in Techsrijan which a 3 day fest organized in Feb and the main cultural fest is Abhyudaya organized in March. There are other events going on during the whole first year including Robotics hacking coding etc. First year is welcomed with our event called Heats which is a dance drama and singing fest.
Hostel charges are 19000 a year and mess fees is 36000 a year. There are 3 people in a room in girls hostel for all 4 years. A chair table almirah and bed is provided for each person. Saraswati bhawan and sarojini bhawan are old hostels so cleaning is not good, rooms are small and 2 almirahs are there for 3 people with 1 fan in a room in saraswati bhawan. The ventilation is good. NGH and Kasturba are the best hostels provided to 1st year and 4th year generally. Mess food is very average and not so healthy. Breakfasts are generally oily with only one day of 2 bananas and some sprouts. The taste is also not very good and there is too much potato used in all the vegetables.
The faculty student relationship in Computer Science and Engineering branch is good. They are approachable easily. We can go and clear our doubts in their cabin. I like Rohit Kumar Tiwari sir(Assistant Prof. CSE department) He teaches DSA in 2nd year and his knowledge and teaching skills are incredible. He always pushes us towards tougher questions which gives us good practice of DSA. I like all the faculties as they are moderate some may lack good communication skills but overall they are fine The exams are mainly of moderate level. We have 3 exams per semester minor1 minor2 and major. It is compulsory to pass in minors collectively with 40 percent major with 30percent and overall with 40 percent in order to clear that subject in the semester. In CSE most of the backs are in DSA in 2nd year and maths in 1st year but almost 90 percent of the students manage to pass in 1st go.
