I chose mechanical engineering because of the placement statistics of nit kkr. About 80-85% of students are placed in mechanical engineering every year. All faculty members have taken Ph.D. degrees from various IITS. The teaching method is also easy to understand. Here two mid-term examinations of 20-20 marks for each subject and end end-semester examination of 50 marks.

Btech has better job opportunities than any other course which is why I chose btech. The faculty is quite good but some of the teachers are rude you have to complete the assignment given by them and should behave properly with them. In our batch in our section, there were approximately 60 students. Most of the faculty is well experienced and are phd holders their teaching method is quite good term exams are in three parts mid sem 1 and 2 and end sem it is not so hard if you study timely.

I chose this course because my parents wanted me to do this course. I personally had some interest in technology. So I wanted to learn new things about the technology used around us. The faculty-student ratio is not as bad as it is 20:1. Most of the faculty has done PHD and some are doing M Tech from the same college. Generally, the term exams are conducted every month in the semester if the semester is 3 months and it is not difficult to pass these term exams. We can pass the exams just by studying one day before the exam.

Faculty are decent enough their teaching styles are unique, they are approachable, and obviously have a great knowledge inn their fields as they themselves are graduated from IITs or other top-notch colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Production and Industrial Engineering under the department of mechanical engineering in NIT Kurukshetra because it was the best possible branch and college I could get at my rank. Apart from this I always had intrest in mechanical engineering. Placements also are quite promising. The students in every branch are divided into two sections of 84 students each and then are further divided into 4 subsections of 21 students each. Every section has 1 or 2 faculties for each subject and every subsection has its own tutorial teacher

NIRF has chosen the top engineering colleges category for the 2022 NIT rankings.

NIT Calicut has a 31 NIRF Ranking in 2022 and a 56.66 NIRF Score, while NIT Kurukshetra has a 50 NIRF 2022 Ranking and a 50.11 NIRF Score.

The highest CTC at NIT Calicut was INR 67.6 LPA, while the average CTC was INR 12.1 LPA. So far, 1138 students have been placed. The placement drive attracted over 200 recruiters. During the placement drive, top recruiters such as Accenture, Amazon, Bajaj Auto, CGI India, Capgemini, Big Basket, DE Shaw, and others visited the campus.

The highest package offered during NIT Kurukshetra placements 2022, according to media reports, was INR 51 LPA. Every year, the institution strives to achieve a higher percentage of placements, providing all necessary facilities and internships to students for a better future and career selection.

Thus, NIT Kurukshetra CSE is better than NIT Calicut CSE.

NIT Jamshedpur CS is better than NIT Kurukshetra IT. It offers better placement opportunities to students. According to the highlights of NIT Jamshedpur placements 2022, students of CSE received the highest CTC of around INR 37.50 LPA. Amazon, Deloitte, Tata Group are some of the major recruiters that frequently visit the campus placements.

Have known some people who have pursued M.Tech in CSE from NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Bhopal, and IIIT Allahabad. I can say that you can opt for IIIT Allahabad for CSE. Do not choose NIT Kurukshetra.

  • At NIT Kurukshetra the examination cell is not good and placements are average.
  • IIIT Allahabad is better in terms of placements, faculty, exposure, etc.
  • At IIIT Allahabad, top companies like Infosys, Capgemini, Byju’s, Oracle, JP Morgan, TCS, IBM, Amazon, Jaro Education, etc. take part in their placement program.
  • They also have an active coding culture.

IIIT Allahabad is a good choice for M.Tech in CSE. You can also go for NIT Bhopal which has a good placement record. But lacks a good teaching-learning process. So, It is suggested you go for IIIT Allahabad, as it will be the best option for you.

Both NIT Kurukshetra and MNNIT Allahabad are reputed institutes for engineering, and both offer good programs in computer science and IT. However, choosing between the two depends on your individual preferences and priorities. Here are some factors to consider:

The preferred choice between the NIT Kurukshetra and MNIT Jaipur depends upon various factors such as faculty, fee, placement, diversity, ranking, research opportunities, infrastructure, etc. Every college is holding a specialty in a distinct branch.

Below given are some factors that can assist you in landing at the right decision.

  • Ranking: According to the NIRF Ranking of Engineering 2020, the ranks secured by the two institutes are - NIT Kurukshetra - 40 and MNIT Jaipur - 35.
  • Fees:The fee for four years of engineering at NIT Kurukshetra is 2.27 Lakhs whereas for MNIT Jaipur, it is INR 3.79 Lakhs

Other Factors

  • NIT Kurukshetra is well-known for its CSE, IT, and Mechanical branch.
  • NIT Kurukshetra awards scholarships to meritorious students whereas, MNIT Jaipur gives scholarships to deserving students (economically weak).
  • The campus infrastructure of MNIT is beautiful, but the faculty of NIT-K is better at imparting knowledge to students.

In the long run, it does not matter which college you have studied at because both the colleges leave you at a similar place. It is wrong to look only for the cut-off of MNIT Jaipur and conclude that it is better. Most of the students are from Kota, which raises their home state cut-off, eventually raising the overall cut-off.

IIIT Delhi is the better option for CS. It has an excellent CS curriculum. It has a great research culture and offers plenty of opportunities to explore one’s interests. The coding culture on campus is great. There are weekly programming contests in Competitive Programming, Cyber Security, Web development, etc. IIITD has a coding club named FooBar. You will get good opportunities to improve your coding skills and algorithms.

IIIT Delhi placements have been great over the last few years. During the 2022 placement drive, students received an average CTC of INR 19.72 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 1.84 CPA.

The two things that help you choose between new IITs and old NITs (or top NITs) are the Tag Value and the Experience.

Better Choice

  • If you like to have a tag of IIT, then choosing IIT Jodhpur is a better option. But if you are comfortable with a good branch in top NITs, then NIT KKR is a better option for the long run, even though you have the option of IIT in your hand.
  • The reason for choosing old NIT over new IIT is that the old NIT will have a well-established alumni base. Even the professors are skilled.

Features of the institutes

The placements of NIT KKR for CSE are excellent. The highest package of INR 43.31 LPA in NIT KKR went for CSE branch. Even the placement percentage are:

Institute

Branch

Fees

NIT KKR

CSE

INR 2.27 Lakhs

IIT Jodhpur

Electrical

INR 2.82 Lakhs

Overall, the choice depends upon the above-mentioned factors and the branch in which you are interested. In NIT KKR, there is a competitive environment in terms of study. CSE branch is the best to be pursued from NIT Kurukshetra.

  • At NIT Kurukshetra you will be able to learn a lot more. Being a new institute it offers a fresh view for the students. Also, they have a more modern approach, when it comes to academics.
  • The faculty is well educated and cooperative.
  • In NIT Kurukshetra, CS and IT students are placed in top Tech Product-based companies like Amazon, Adobe, Microsoft, Oracle, and 1 or 2 students in Google as well.
  • It might not have good enough facilities, but it is also not bad either.

Therefore, it can be concluded that NIT Kurukshetra has a lot to offer and if a student shows real interest and passion towards the course, they would surely be successful in their life.

The most practical thing to do here would be to begin with taking a look at the syllabus of both these mentioned programs. You need to be absolutely clear about whether you wish to study for the next 4 years of your life and maybe also be able to develop a career in the same field. Interest and passion are mandatory to be able to sustain in any field of engineering for a very long period of time.

Now as far as my personal opinion goes, since two of my brothers have completed their engineering from IIIT Allahabad, I strongly believe that IIITA is a notch better than the others. Although the syllabus of CSE and IT is more or less the same, the overall academic environment of IIITA is better suited for coding when compared to the other NITs. There are a number of competitive programming websites available online where you will find more students of IIIT A placed at higher ranks than NITs.

There is a process of development, evolvement and growth as a programmer in IIITA for the students. It is known to all that India’s best coder Suryanarayana is also from IIIT A. Another reason why IIITA is a popular option for many aspiring coders is because unlike other colleges, it offers core subjects from the first years itself.

The placement scenario is also far accomplished of IIIT Allahabad.

The faculty members of the EEE department at BITS Goa are not good, except for a few of them.

According to the professors, the only way to answer the questions is to attend their lectures and not understand the concepts. The average scores and grades are very low. The average of a class usually is C in a test or marks like 15 out of 75.

BITS has a higher brand value than any NIT in India. You can clear your concepts on your own. You can also learn from the knowledgeable professors of the EEE department.

If you maintain a CGPA of 8 or above, especially in the EEE department, you can easily get an internship with the help of a practice school program. These factors also help you if you opt to study further in any part of the world, or if you prefer to do a job.

However, placements at NIT Trichy are better. But, if you have the required skills, you will get good opportunities to land up in a good job position. The average CTC offered to the students is 5 LPA.

You will easily get into a good institution for higher studies or any good company for a job, even if you do not pay much attention to the lectures at BITSG. All you need to do is, have some good internship experience, be on good terms with few faculties of the EEE department, and get required recommendation letters.
