I did apply for Manipal as well as NIT Srinagar but i chose Thapar beacuse i wanted to persue Mechanical Eng. and Thpara at that time provied with the best machines for mechanical in the north. Also Thapar is renouned for its mechanical eng. I myself chose to join Thapar University and persue my career. Admission process is simple, You are alloted the branch bases on JEE percentile or Boards percentage. The cutofss of Computer is pretty high.
I have opted Mechanical Engineering because the faculaty here and the workshops here are very well maintained and proffessors here explain every thin in detail and by giving practical examples. The curriculum prepares us well for real world applications. There is no such load of studies and students can enjoy their social life as well. As of now the curicullum that is being taught needs no improvement. The difficulty level of exam in medium and students get a variety of questions that challenge their brain.
Intership opportunities are offered through a designated mail given by thapar to each student. Students can pick any project and can seek any teacger's guidence for the completion of the project. After 3rs year you are offered interships directly through the companies.
The average placement of Thapar is around 10 lakhs per yr. Students are eligible for placement after completing 3rd yr. Various companies like Zomato, Google, Aplle recruits students from Thapar. The highest package offered this yer=ar to two students was aroun 1.2 Cr per yr and this was campus placement. Percentage of students getting placed is above 90%. If a student wants to apply for off campus placement, he can do that as well. I will persue Masters after this degree
The fee structure of thapar is around 6 lakh per annum including hostel and mess fees for each semester, this makes a total of around 24-25 lakhs for this bachelor's degree. Scholarship is provided on the basis of CGPA. The set criteria for scholarship is above 8 CGPA. The Tution fees, registration fees and oother fees are available on thapar's offcial website and one can check from there. The admission criteria includes reservation system and a reserved quota for Inside Punjab students.
The social life here is pretty good. Students can join various clubs and societies for peer interaction. The annual fest here is named SATURNALIA which is conducted around November. The library here is one of the best libraries in North named Nava Nalanda Library of Thapar. Every classroom is air conditioned and have proper seat, projects and ppts are used for teaching purposes. Sports competitions are organised for students to participate in it.
The faculty here is well qualified. The teaching system is very good. Practical explames are used to demonstrate the phenomenons. Labs and Workshops are very well maintained. The Exams are conducted twice a semester i.e. MST and EST. Every exam is evaluated on a given criteria set by the department and the HOD. After the completion of semester, marks are evaluated and SGPA is calculated
placements in our collage is are way far better than othern collages the is an outstanding this to discuss and the and traning for the placement is the great where the main attraction is the clg faculty
capmus placements starts from 4th of year degree, and internships from 2nd year. 1500+ compaies are tied up chitkara university like samsung airbus BPL. high package has gone upto 1.11Cr and avg package is around 8.5 lakh almost 100% placements are offered at the college as assured i'll join Indian Armed Forces thru CDS, if not the go for the MNCs like Samsung by chosing VLSI to design and develop semi conductors chips.
In 6th semester the students are eligible for campus placements. There are few companies like HCL, infoyses, etc. visited in campus during internships and placements. The placement percentage of collage is arround 70% and the average and highest package offered is 8lpa and 50lpa respectively. I plan to continue my study in Mtech and GATE preperation.
Placements is actually one of the most thoroughly discussed subject at my college and its taken pretty seriously as it is one of the pillars for it's strong reputation. The students are eligible for internships right after the second semester, based on their skills. For on-campus placements, the students are mostly eligible after the sixth semester. Several companies such as JP Morgan, Deloitte, Samsung, Microsoft, Intel and last year Apple havd put their trusts over the students of our college. Also the placements record is quite good. Last year, the highest package was claimed to be around 54L per annum, which was secured by 2 students. The average stood at 12L per annum. As per my knowledge, all of my seniors were placed in pretty good corporations. However its also important to acknowledge the individual effort and skill. I plan to secure a good job through on-campus placements and make a mark on the tech world...
good placements, but cg cut is very high. i had done a podcast with senior as well and got to know a lot about the placements about thapar. you can checkout that on my youtube channel : BHAVISHYA SINGLA.
The placements here are average to good which totally matters to the students like ive seen people getting no placements at all to people getting placements of 18 LPA in second year only it totally matters on the student

As per my experience in college the placement opportunities at our college are exceptional reflecting the institutions strong connections with industry leaders and its commitment to students success. The dedicatied placement cell activity works to connect students with a range of potential employers through on campus recruitment drives internships and jobs
I like that they teach in class and give some homework from which students can do practice and understand. And after every 1 units they take tests and after three units they take mid term exam and then after last 3 units they take end term of all 6 units it takes a time of 5 months
