Thapar University Scholarship for BE/B.Tech Students 

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology offers Merit Scholarships to first-year UG students on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main 2023. Students pursuing B.Tech or B.E. at Thapar University can apply for the below-mentioned scholarships as per the criteria mentioned against each scholarship:

Important Note: In order to calculate the aggregate marks at 10+2 Level for Scholarship, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English (Mandatory) are the four subjects that will be considered. Chemistry can be replaced by Biology, Biotechnology, or any other Technical Vocational subject, which was considered at the time of admission. For scholarship in Bio-medical and Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics, and English (Mandatory) will be considered.

Thapar University Scholarship for ME/M.Tech Students

Students admitted to M.Tech or ME courses at Thapar University are eligible for the following scholarships: 

Scholarship from AICTE

Students with a valid GATE score will be considered to receive scholarships only if approved and the amount released by AICTE or any other funding agency. This scholarship is applicable only for intake approved by AICTE. 

Scholarship from TIET

  • Students with a valid GATE score who are getting the scholarship from AICTE or from any other funding agency as mentioned above will also be eligible for an additional scholarship of INR 5,000 per month from TIET.
  • Students with a valid GATE score who are not getting the scholarship from AICTE or from any other funding agency will be offered a scholarship of INR 12,400 per month.
  • ME/M.Tech Students who have not qualified GATE be offered INR 10,000 per month for 10 months in an academic year.

Students must have a minimum of 70% (65% for SC/ST) of Marks in the qualifying degree to avail of these scholarships. For continuation of the scholarship in the second year, candidates must have a minimum of 8.00 CGPA at the end of the first year with no backlog.


Thapar University Scholarship for M.Sc Students 

General Category Students pursuing M.Sc at Thapar University are entitled to get merit-based scholarships. Three merit scholarships, one each of value of full, half, and quarter tuition fees respectively, will be awarded to the M.Sc students programme-wise and year-wise. The scholarship will be granted in the first year (2nd Semester) on the basis of performance (CGPA obtained) in the 1st Semester. For the 2nd Year, the scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit i.e. AGPA of 1st Year.

  • Eligibility: Students should not have AGPA less than 8.00 and should not have any backlog in the year of consideration. The students must have also passed all the courses offered in the semester(s) prior to the year of consideration. 
  • Value of Scholarship: Scholarship awarded in the 2nd Semester will be the full value of the tuition fee. In the 3rd Semester, half amount of the tuition fee will be waived. And, in the 4th Semester, a quarter of the tuition fee will be waived.

Thapar University Scholarship for MCA Students 

10% of the admitted strength of the MCA course at Thapar University are given scholarships based on their performance in academics. The scholarship amount for the Thapar University MCA is awarded in the second semester based on performance in the first semester. The scholarship amount for the second year will be awarded on the basis of the student’s performance in the first year. 

  • Eligibility: The eligible students should not have an AGPA less than 8.00 and should not have any backlog in the year of consideration and must have passed all the courses offered in the semester(s) prior to the year of consideration. 
  • Value of Scholarship: INR 40,000 Per Annum

Thapar University Scholarship for MBA Students 

Thapar University also offers scholarships to deserving MBA students. LMTSM offers 75 merit scholarships to MBA students who have valid institute-based test scores or NMAT by GMAC score. Scholarship to Thapar University MBA students is provided on the basis of ranking in the admission evaluation process.
