I have JEE MAINS I secure 87 percentile with category rank 1457 I got an ECE branch in NIT RAIPUR in JOSAA COUNCELLING. I didn't go for the CSab councelling process. Every required detail related to physical reporting/admission was given by the college (NITRR) itself
Read Full ReviewI am an ECE student. Like any other aspirant, my goal was also to get CSE in any good NIT or IIT but I didn't get one considering my rank after CSE I found ECE to be the most considerable branch as my brother was also from this branch he suggested to me to opt for it and I did and I don't regret it. The student ratio at NIT Raipur is good in labs there would always be someone to help you out in case you are stuck in your experiments. The professors in class also clear your doubts effectively and if you want to make a project for the national science exhibition or can be your project the faculties are quite helpful. All the faculties are highly qualified professionals from different IITs some have also completed their education from abroad. For the exams, we were the first batch after COVID soo everything was shifting from online to offline soo we were at a loss as we were already 3 months late for admission and our course also started late, but the exams are quite on the easier side.
As you know to get into any institute of national importance you have to clear JEE Mains and Advanced, this was the same for me after you clear the exam you have to fill out the counselling form for JOSAA in which you will get your institute as per your rank in JEE Mains or Advanced, after that you have to report to the institute for the physical verification process, it took almost a day for me maybe in future I hope to see some improvements in the process. I got admission through the OBC-NCL quota if you are an OBC you should opt for the reservation cause it can benefit you on a great level, it can compensate for your 1-2 percentile in your JEE.

My brother completed his B. Tech in Biotechnology from NIT Raipur in May 2016. The reason for choosing it was because of the brand value. But after being in the college and started taking interest in the studies and various activities, it went on to be a great 4-year long journey.
It is a trustworthy institute for CSE. You will have to work yourself to achieve something big.

One of my friends has passed the third year from CSE, NIT Raipur, and is interning with the UnitedHealth Group, the sixth on the Fortune 500 list of companies.
Maximum cutoff ranks for NIT Raipur admission varies based on several factors such as branch, category of students, academic year, etc. According to the cutoff trends, students get admission for Biomedical or Biotech with ranks as high as 60k. Your domicile will also be an influencing factor, for the required cutoff.
There are quite a few pros and cons of NIT Raipur. As you have asked about the cons, let me provide you with a few of the drawbacks that come with staying at NIT Raipur.
A few students are also known to complain about the allotment of hostel facilities. Only 30% of students are allotted the hostel on the basis of merit. This could be another major drawback.
Assuming you don’t have any preferences currently in joining any of the clubs at the college, let me help you out by being as lucid as possible. If you are primarily looking for fields like singing, dancing, or literature, clubs like Raaga, Nrityam, and Literati will be your default choices. Also, always keep in mind that the club management certificates you get in your senior years will always be useful in the future.
Now, here are some parameters you can consider before planning on joining any of the clubs at NIT Raipur:
In my opinion, some of the best clubs are NCC, NSS, PMRC, and Raaga. I-Cell, E-Cell, and Nrityam are not that great.
Sudhir Vasudeva, the former chairman & managing director at ONGC is one of the notable alumni from NIT Raipur. He pursued his B.E. in Chemical engineering at NIT Raipur from 1971 to 1975 and was also a gold medalist.
He is quite the achiever and definitely one of the shining stars of NIT Raipur.
Yash Srivastava and his brother, Harsh Srivastava from NIT Raipur were definitely able to bag the tremendous offer of 75 LPA because they had been working hard. If you heard of Codechef, there’s a possibility that you may have heard about them.
They were in the top 2 positions for coding in the institute during their time, at the institute. Other students used to fight for the 3rd spot. That’s because they were the best in coding. They have worked hard to learn algorithms with the help of the internet.
I have a friend who was in the same batch with them. According to him, they used to solve coding problems every day.
I don’t know much about their interview but they loved to do coding.
