The M.Tech program at NIT Rourkela features a well-structured curriculum with a mix of core and elective courses. The faculty members are experienced and well-qualified. I selected this program for its Ph.D. or equivalent degrees and es academic reputation, industry connections, and research opportunities. NIT Rourkela maintains a favorable faculty-to-student ratio, ensuring individualized attention and guidance. The faculty holds mploys a practical, application-oriented teaching approach. Term exams are typically conducted on schedule, and pass difficulty varies by course, with ample support provided for success.
Read Full ReviewBecause I'm interested in this course and I want to explore the subject. 24:145 is the ratio of faculty and student ratio. The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable too. they help in every step whenever we need them.
Read Full ReviewI didn't pick this class because I was interested in it. It was all based on how I did in JEE Mains. There aren't too many students for every teacher, so you can handle your studies by asking questions and getting answers whenever you need them.
Read Full ReviewI chose this course because it was the best that Fitted to my rank and my interests. It is a very good course for anybody interested in Mathematics. This course will also help in building your basic knowledge of computational thinking. There are currently 19 faculty members to 250 students. The teaching methodology is quite outdated, and the course structure is yet to be updated. The curriculum and the evaluation are quite strict here, one has to dedicate time and effort to pass any subject in this course.
Read Full ReviewThe whole curriculum is very well. Since electrical engineering is interesting I choose it. A total of 125 students are there in this. faculty are highly qualified most of them are passed out from IITs and they are flexible with us. There are 2 sems per year there is mid and end exams for a sem.
Read Full ReviewAll my faculty members are very smart and each and every one of them has years of experience. All professors have Ph. D.s and published many articles on research the exams here are every 3 months the sem is 30 marks end sem is 50 and the TA is 20 marks.
Read Full ReviewThe course curriculum is good but hectic. The electronics department of our college in well known for having for having the best professors in the nation. I choose the ECE branch because first of all I did not get a CSE branch in jee exams. And also the ECE branch is the second best branch of our college. Faculty to students ratio is good as class strength is almost 60. Most of the professors have a foreign or IIT PhD degree. Exams here are really difficult. We get approximately 1 month to prepare for midsems exams and 1.5 months for endsems. The exam questions are mostly PYQs . It is easier to get a good CG if you study with a good planning like studying 2 weeks before exams sincerely. The teachers here teach sincerely but some of them do not. If a student studies with planning like doing PYQs before exams and the assignment given by teacher he/she can easily pass the exam.
Read Full Reviewthe curriculum is hard at NIT Rourkela mainly because of the 85 percent attendance policy and average professors. professors here are highly qualified but many of them don't know how to teach honestly. but student to faculty ratio is good I would say and for the exam part. exams are scary hee due to the fierce methods of penalising used by professors, but you will get used to it, if you start studying 2 weeks before the exam you can easily maintain an 8 pointer cgpa but if you think you can pass just one night of study then you will get disappointed.
Read Full ReviewThe course curriculum is kind of medium level. I chose this course because this was the best I could get in JEE. The faculty are very nice and strict both. they are well qualified. there was a gap of 1 month for mid sem and then 1.5 months for end-sem

IIIT Allahabad is a better option compared to NIT Rourkela. An IT degree from IIITA offers better career prospects. According to the 2022 placement highlights of the institute, students received an average CTC of around INR 30.63 LPA. More than 80 companies took part in the placement drive, this year. EY, KPMG, Planet Spark, Vedantu, etc. were among the major recruiters in the placement drive.
You should choose NIT Rourkela for a B.Tech. It is a reputed NIT with a great placement record. NIT Rourkela placements 2022 had witnessed the average CTC of INR 20.88 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 46.08 LPA. Reputed companies such as VISA, Google, Apple, etc. took part in the placement drive.
If you are getting CSE/EE/ECE, you should definitely choose NIT Rourkela.
Among these, NIT Calicut is the best option for Computer Science and Engineering. On an overall scale, it is better compared to VNIT Nagpur and NIT Rourkela. NIT Calicut placements are around 100% for CSE. Reputed companies such as Amazon, Infosys, Cisco, and Microsoft recruit CSE students through the campus placements. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 17 LPA.
NIT Trichy is among the top 10 in NIRF Ranking while NIT Rourkela is still behind in the list. The infrastructure of both the colleges is decent.
The alumni collaboration is widespread for both institutes. However, NIT Trichy has a well-experienced faculty. In terms of management of various societies, clubs in the campus, extra co-curricular, and cleanliness are all exceptionally approved of by the students. If anything, it is top-notch at NIT Trichy.
NIT Rourkela cannot be compared with NIT Trichy when it comes to placements. The opportunities provided in NITT are tremendous and are far ahead of NIT Rourkela.
It is suggested to not go for NIT Rourkela unless you are opting for a core branch. NIT Trichy should be your priority in any situation.
I have a friend from NIT Calicut and he was able to provide some information regarding their M.Tech in Offshore Structure.
As for NIT Calicut, it boasts of an outstanding Civil Department. However, the placement offered by the institute may not be that good. But you can manage to get jobs through off-campus placements. You can earn a lot in the field as you gain experience.
One of my friends studied at NIT Rourkela. According to him, the campus was really good and had many features that made it stand out among others.
Here are some facts about it:
The main rourkela city is about 7 kms from the railway station which has constant auto services. Rourkela has many restaurants, pubs and other hangout zones. They also have Vaishnodevi temple which students visit as the trip includes trekking and great viewpoints.
EEE in NIT Trichy is better than CS in NIT Rourkela. NIT Trichy is among the best NITs in the country and offers excellent academics and placements. Around 100% of students get placed from EEE every year. According to the recent highlights of NIT Trichy placements, students of EEE usually receive salaries in the range of INR 4-20 LPA. Microsoft, Uber, and HLS Asia are some of the major recruiters for the branch.
One of my friends told me that these three institutes must be in this order like; IIIT A>>> NIT Bhopal>= NIT Rourkela. Although he was a student of NIT Rourkela.
He stated that between these three, Rourkela and Bhopal are more or less equal. However, both of these institutes consist of some advantages and disadvantages as well.
If NIT Bhopal is considered and compared with NIT Rourkela, then it must be said that NIT Bhopal's strength is a large batch size; IT+CSE. But the main advantage of NIT Bhopal is the location and nearby airport transport facilities that conceal all the advantages of this institute. For this reason, NIT Bhopal experiences big recruiters every year, and NIT Rourkela misses this entirely. This is the reason why NIT Bhopal is one step ahead of NIT Rourkela.

However, at NIT Rourkela, M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is almost similar to doing M.Tech in IITs. But in the case of Bhopal, the students can sit for placements for all the big companies in the campus recruitment process along with B.Tech companies. It will be better to avoid IIIT Allahabad for doing M.Tech in CSE, as placement opportunities in this institute are not good. This thing is that IIIT Allahabad does not allow M.Tech students to attend for placement in the on-campus recruitment process.
Thus, it can be stated that for the B.Tech course, IIIT Allahabad>> NIT Bhopal> NIT Rourkela.
One of my friends is a CSE student at NIT Rourkela. According to him the department is very decent.

Lastly, keep in mind that here you have to study and learn on your own. Most of the teachers approve of mugging up theories rather than actually learning them in depth. So if you prefer to hustle to succeed in life, NIT Rourkela is the perfect place for you.
When it comes down to making a choice between institutes it is better to think point-wise before coming to a decision. Everyone wants a good institute to study in which has great academics and also has great placements along with extracurricular activities.
BITS Goa would be the better option here only if there’s no financial problem. NIT Rourkela is also one of the best NITs, but when it comes to CSE department BITS will take the lead here. BITS Pilani or the Goa campus would be more preferable over NIT Rourkela.

As of the current situation BITS, institutes have a high ranking place in our society with excellent academic records as well as placement stats. BITS Pilani is considered as an epitome of CSE engineering by most of the aspirants these days. Only the top 3 leading IIT’s are in comparison with BITS Pilani.
