Ques
Which IIIT is better, IIIT B or IIIT A?

● Top Answer By Aditi Banerjee on 22 Mar 23

Ans
If you are considering IIIT Bangalore and IIIT Allahabad for your undergraduate studies in computer science and information technology, there are several factors you should take into account before making a decision. IIIT Bangalore offers an iMtech program combining bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science and engineering, while IIIT Allahabad offers a bachelor's program in information technology that can later be converted to a master's degree. IIITA is a government institute, while IIITB is based on a public-private partnership model. IIITA has a larger campus and lower fees, while IIITB has better-credentialed faculty and no reservations of any kind. Both institutes have great infrastructure, excellent placement records, and coding cultures, but IIITB has a higher ratio of students qualifying for the Google Summer of Code. IIITB is located in the heart of Electronic City, which houses major companies such as Siemens, HP, Infosys, and HCL, providing ample opportunities for internships and exposure. The course structure at IIITB is more rigorous, and the peer group is stronger due to no reservations. The focus is primarily on academics and coding, with secondary attention given to sports and cultural activities. IIIT Allahabad's course structure is less rigorous due to a mixed peer group. The student community focuses more on extracurricular activities in addition to academics and coding. IIIT Allahabad has a lower cutoff for admissions and more seats, resulting in a more diverse peer group. IIIT Allahabad has lower fees and is located in a city with a rich cultural heritage. Before making a decision, it is essential to weigh the pros and cons of both institutes and determine which factors are most important to you. Consider factors such as city connect, peer group, course structure, focus on academics or extracurricular activities, and the environment that would help you thrive. With careful consideration, you can choose the institute that is the best fit for you and your goals.

Ques
Which is better, NIT Calicut for CSE or IIIT Bangalore for CSE?

● Top Answer By Somya Gupta Sharma on 26 Mar 21

Ans
My brother has visited both institutes. So, I know a little bit about NIT Calicut and IIIT Bangalore. If you're talking about B. Tech in CSE, NITC is undoubtedly the best. NITC remains ahead in terms of ranking compared to IIITB. But this doesn't necessarily mean that IIITB is not a good college. IIITB is a pretty new college and has only been offering M. Tech in IT for a long time, and this is one of the reasons why it does not have much recognition among students.  IIITB does not have a B. Tech program, but recently it started offering a 5-year Integrated M. Tech program. Right now, the second batch is about to pass. The first batch has passed out with remarkable achievements. IIITB has been more of an M. Tech-focused institute since its start. The faculties are really good here. Placements: When it comes to placement IIITB gets the upper hand. Being situated in Bangalore, the college also attracts a lot of software companies. Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, NIT Calicut is way better than IIIT Bangalore. Academics:  IIITB focuses a lot on academics. The level of dedication and the hard work that both students and professors put in is commendable.  It has a coding culture much better than the NITC.  The senior-junior relationship in IIITB is great. Seniors put in a lot of time and effort into mentoring their own juniors, which you can never experience at NITC.  Also, the IIITBians won a lot of coding tournaments that had happened in Bangalore. So, go through the above-mentioned points and make your decision wisely.

Ques
IIIT Bangalore iMtech in CSE or NIT Surathkal BTech in CSE, what should I choose?

● Top Answer By Shikha Ghosal on 13 Apr 21

Ans
Both are great institutions in terms of academics and in terms of placements too, but there are some major factors that make IIIT Bangalore better than NIT Surathkal. Hygiene at campus and hostel: Both the hostel and campus of IIIT Bangalore are very clean. As cleanliness is very much important for all of us the hostel and campus of IIIT Bangalore are well maintained which is not the case at NIT Surathkal. This is very important for all of us and cannot be neglected. Study Curriculum: The study curriculum of IIIT Bangalore is very much up to date and it has all the important topics and syllabus which is important in today's world and will be helpful for the students in their future.  Admission based on merit: The admissions at IIIT Bangalore are completely based on the student's merit and there is no influence of other factors like caste, gender, management quota, etc. Students get admission based on his/her JEE score. Good research and industry opportunities: This college provides good research facilities to its students and the prime location of this college also helps to get more focus and attention which plays a major role to get further opportunities to its students. But there are few demerits of the college too like -  Life at this college can be difficult which is similar to many colleges in our country, as the environment there is not that fancy like it is shown in our movies but one can get used to it after spending a few months. The college fest is not that great and interesting as compared to other colleges where the fests are organized in a grand way but this is slowly improving as both the students and the college are putting in efforts to make it better.

Ques
What is the difference between IIIT Allahabad and IIIT Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Aniruddha Sinha on 22 Aug 22

Ans
IIIT Bangalore is better than IIIT Allahabad. It offers a more hands-on practical learning experience. You will learn the concepts by doing. IIITB has a thriving research culture. At the end of fourth year, students are given an option to choose 6-month projects/internships or a 12-month-long research internship. Many students choose to do research internships at reputed institutes in India or abroad. It has a huge locational advantage as well. IIITB campus is located in one of the prominent IT hubs of Bangalore.  IIM Bangalore placements 2022 had witnessed the highest CTC of INR 202 LPA. The average CTC offered was around INR 30.78 LPA.

Ques
Which one is better IIIT Bangalore Mtech CS or ME CS from BITS Pilani Campus?

● Top Answer By Anish Sinha on 14 Apr 22

Ans
IIIT Bangalore is comparably better than BITS Pilani for an MTech CS. Placements for master's programs are better at IIIT B. Being located in Bangalore, the institute has a locational advantage. IIIT Bangalore MTech CSE placements 2021 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 45.6 LPA.  Since IIIT B doesn’t offer just  BTech, M.Tech students get equal opportunities for placements. This isn’t the case for BITS Pilani.

Ques
Should an iM.Tech in IIIT Banglore be preferred over a B.Tech in IT in IIIT Allahabad?

● Top Answer By Deeksha Seth on 26 Mar 21

Ans
iMTech is an integrated course offered at IIIT Bangalore which includes a 5-year BTech+ MTech program. It is not possible to compare a 4-year BTech course with a 5-year Integrated MTech course. Particulars IIIT Bangalore IIIT Allahabad Course MTech. Integrated BTech. Total Fees 9.38 lacs General- 5.85 lacs SC/ST- 1.27 lacs Course duration 5 years 4 years Placement On campus On campus If you want to pursue MTech after BTech, iMTech at IIIT Bangalore is a great option as you will save a whole year. However, if you don’t want to pursue BTech, you should opt for IIIT Allahabad. The course curriculum and faculty at IIIT B are excellent. On the other hand, at IIITA students are quite frustrated with their faculty. Based on the above facts and the conversation I had with some of my friends and colleagues who are pass outs from IIITB and IIITA, I would advise you to choose IIIT Bangalore with closed eyes.

Ques
Bits Pilani Msc Maths and BE CSE Dual Degree Course or IIIT Bangalore iMtech CSE or IIIT Allahabad IT Btech? Which is better and why?

● Top Answer By Anirudh Roychowdhuri on 11 May 21

Ans
To begin with, the 5-year dual degree program at BITS is significantly more costly than the 5-year iMTech program at IIIT Bangalore, as well as the 4-year BTech program at IIIT Allahabad. Second, there's no assurance that you'll get CSE at BITS Pilani if you don't have the required CGPA. So, it will be better to consider IIITA or IIITB.  I have a few friends at IIITB and based on what I heard from them, I will definitely recommend the institute.  The arguments in favor of IIIT B are as follows. No reservations policy as it ensures a good peer group. The faculties at the institute are great.  The course structure is innovative. There are a variety of courses in the first year, including Calculus using C and Python programming, Algebra Linear, Data Structures and Algorithms: An Overview, Computer Networks with Digital Design.  You have the choice of doing a six-month project plus a six-month industry internship in your fifth year or twelve months of study for your master's thesis. Good Placements: It has maintained a great placement record over the years. According to the recent placement highlights the highest and average CTC for the institute was 24.88 LPA and 43.31 LPA.  Locational Advantage: Bangalore is definitely a much better location than Prayagraj. The climate is great. Air, road, and rail connections are all available. It is in close proximity to MNC offices and top-tier universities (IISc etc). It also offers the conveniences of a big city i.e. malls, restaurants, hospitals, etc. I know several students in the iMTech program who have chosen IIITB over BITS Pilani CSE and BITS Goa, CSE.

Ques
I am getting IT branch in NIT Surathkal and CS branch in IIIT Bangalore, which one should I opt?

● Top Answer By Rita Sarkar Seth on 12 Apr 23

Ans
When it comes to choosing a college and a branch for your undergraduate studies in computer science, it's important to consider various factors such as the quality of education, faculty, infrastructure, and most importantly, the placement prospects. Firstly, IIIT Bangalore is exclusively dedicated to information technology and computer science education, while NIT Surathkal offers a wide range of engineering courses including IT and CS. However, CS at IIIT Bangalore and IT at NIT Surathkal has comparable curriculums, and you can expect to learn programming languages, algorithms, databases, networking, software engineering, and more. Let's take a look at the current placement statistics of both colleges in their CS branch: IIIT Bangalore: The average placement package for the CS branch is around 13 lakhs per annum, with top recruiters including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, and more. The highest package offered is around 50 lakhs per annum. The placement rate is around 95%, and most students get placed within the first few days of the placement season. NIT Surathkal: The average placement package for the IT branch is around 8-9 lakhs per annum, while the CS branch has a slightly higher average package of around 10-11 lakhs per annum. The top recruiters include Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, IBM, and more. The highest package offered is around 42 lakhs per annum. The placement rate is around 90%, and some students get placed in non-technical roles as well. Now, let's talk about the other aspects of these colleges: Faculty: Both IIIT Bangalore and NIT Surathkal have experienced and qualified faculty members who are dedicated to providing quality education and guidance to students. Infrastructure: IIIT Bangalore has a modern and well-equipped campus with state-of-the-art labs, a library, hostels, sports facilities, and more. NIT Surathkal has a vast and sprawling campus with good facilities, although some departments may lack the latest equipment. Location: IIIT Bangalore is located in the heart of the city, making it easily accessible and providing plenty of opportunities for internships, projects, and collaborations with industry. NIT Surathkal is located in a scenic coastal town, which may be preferable for some students who enjoy a quieter environment. In conclusion, both IIIT Bangalore and NIT Surathkal are excellent choices for pursuing a career in IT or CS. However, if you prioritize a CS certificate, slightly higher average placement packages, and a central location, IIIT Bangalore may be a better option for you.

Ques
Which should I choose among IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Bangalore or IIIT Delhi?

● Top Answer By Rupam Banerjee on 14 Apr 22

Ans
On an overall scale, IIIT Lucknow is a good option, despite being a new institute. Although, all three of these institutes are reputed. While choosing one of these, you should prioritize your choice of branch.  Besides CS and IT, IIIT Bangalore started offering CSAI. It is a BTech in CS with an Artificial Intelligence specialization. AI is in huge demand these days. All three of these IIITs have decent curriculum, which is designed according to industry trends and needs.  Despite being a new IIIT, IIIT Lucknow had good placements over the last few years. IIIT Lucknow placements 2022 had the highest CTC of INR 1.2 CPA. The placement rate for this year was 100%. All three colleges have good coding culture. From IIIT Lucknow, a total of 5 students were selected for GSoC 2021. IIIT Lucknow also has a Github campus expert.  These advantages make IIIT Lucknow a good choice.
