IIIT Bangalore PG Admissions 2023

IIIT Bangalore accepts GATE scores for admission to the MTech program. The GATE scores in CS/IT or EC paper are considered fro final admissions to MTech in CSE or ECE. GATE cutoff rank required for admission are released by the intsitute only. In 2021, IIIT Bangalore admitted students up to 650 rank in GATE for the CSE course. For the ECE course, the last rank admitted was 620.

For admission to MSc program in Digital Society, the institute conducts a written test followed by a personal interview round. Candidates with valid scores in CAT/ CEED/ CUCET/ TISS NET are exempted from the written test conducted by IIIT Bangalore. Candidates qualifying the written test or the national level exam are called for the interview round for final admissions. The institute shortlists candidates on the basis of performance in the PI.

International candidates and NRIs applying for PG courses at IIIT Bangalore will have to have a 4-year undergraduate engineering degree in disciplines related to computing (CS, EE, EC). The applicant, except for those from Anglophone country (i.e. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, and the US), will also have to submit valid GRE and TOEFL scores.

IIIT Bangalore Integrated M.Tech Admissions 2023

IIIT Bangalore offers a 5-year Integrated M.Tech instead of a 4-year BTech program. IIIT Bangalore iMTech (BTech +MTech) is specialized in CSE and ECE. Admission to the program is based on the JEE Main rank. The cutoff ranks for admission are set by the institute itself. Candidates qualifying the cutoff ranks ar further given preferences between CSE and ECE program. If a candidate is interested in only one of the offered specializations, then he/she shall be admitted under preference-1. While the candidates interested in both the branches will be admitted under preference-2. Admission to the program is then given on the basis of seats available.

IIIT Bangalore has also implemented a special branch change policy for students admitted under preference-2. In the case of vacant seats, the preference-2 students will automatically be admitted to preference-1.

Admission to the course will be based on the marks secured in the paper 1 of JEE Main. The application forms for admission to the Integrated M.Tech programme in IIITB will be available tentatively from the third week of March.

IIIT Bangalore Ph.D. and M.S Admissions 2023

Admission to IIIT Bangalore MS/PhD program is done via written test followed by a personal interview round. Applicants are shortlisted based on their chosen field of research and valid GATE/GRE/CSIR-UGC NET/ UGC-NET/ JEST/ NHBM exam scores. Candidates with a valid score in any of the national-level exams are exempted from written test round. My brother has visited both institutes. So, I know a little bit about NIT Calicut and IIIT Bangalore. If you're talking about B. Tech in CSE, NITC is undoubtedly the best. NITC remains ahead in terms of ranking compared to IIITB. But this doesn't necessarily mean that IIITB is not a good college. IIITB is a pretty new college and has only been offering M. Tech in IT for a long time, and this is one of the reasons why it does not have much recognition among students. IIITB does not have a B. Tech program, but recently it started offering a 5-year Integrated M. Tech program. Right now, the second batch is about to pass. The first batch has passed out with remarkable achievements. IIITB has been more of an M. Tech-focused institute since its start. The faculties are really good here. Placements: When it comes to placement IIITB gets the upper hand. Being situated in Bangalore, the college also attracts a lot of software companies. Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, NIT Calicut is way better than IIIT Bangalore. Academics: IIITB focuses a lot on academics. The level of dedication and the hard work that both students and professors put in is commendable. It has a coding culture much better than the NITC. The senior-junior relationship in IIITB is great. Seniors put in a lot of time and effort into mentoring their own juniors, which you can never experience at NITC. Hygiene at campus and hostel: Both the hostel and campus of IIIT Bangalore are very clean. As cleanliness is very much important for all of us the hostel and campus of IIIT Bangalore are well maintained which is not the case at NIT Surathkal. This is very important for all of us and cannot be neglected. Study Curriculum: The study curriculum of IIIT Bangalore is very much up to date and it has all the important topics and syllabus which is important in today's world and will be helpful for the students in their future. Admission based on merit: The admissions at IIIT Bangalore are completely based on the student's merit and there is no influence of other factors like caste, gender, management quota, etc. Students get admission based on his/her JEE score. On an overall scale, IIIT Lucknow is a good option, despite being a new institute. Although, all three of these institutes are reputed. While choosing one of these, you should prioritize your choice of branch. Besides CS and IT, IIIT Bangalore started offering CSAI. It is a BTech in CS with an Artificial Intelligence specialization. AI is in huge demand these days. All three of these IIITs have decent curriculum, which is designed according to industry trends and needs. Despite being a new IIIT, IIIT Lucknow had good placements over the last few years. IIIT Lucknow placements 2022 had the highest CTC of INR 1.2 CPA. The placement rate for this year was 100%. All three colleges have good coding culture. From IIIT Lucknow, a total of 5 students were selected for GSoC 2021. IIIT Lucknow also has a Github campus expert. These advantages make IIIT Lucknow a good choice.
