- this collage has a very large campus of about 1200 acres. you will green environment everywhere.
Dislikes
- being in large campus you always have to use your bicycle to go anywhere.
- also the weather here is very humid. once you get used to it then its okay, otherwise will will suffer
Remarks :
i chose this college beacuse i was not getting CS in IIT'S. yeah but i can say some goods things about this college. I t has a very vast campuss of about 1200 acres. Nit rourkela is one of the prestigious institute in the world with ranking 3rd in overall NIT'S. i have applied to all 1st,2nd gen IITS for circuital braches but i cannot get a seat there beacuse of my rank.
Course Curriculum Overview :
CS is the brach that everyone wants. i chosed this beacuse i was not getting CS in IIT's . Till now the course is general but in the 4th sem have digital electronics, AI labs in 1 year you will have 2 sems . and each sem has mid, end sems each sem contributes to 100 marks mid(30) + end(50) +TA (20)=100 marks
Internships Opportunities :
for internship apart from the collage you only have to do the hardwork here. you only have to learn all the skills required to make you eligible for internships. there are lots of offer you can get on name of your collage but you should have skills. mostly in TEXAS instuments most of the students gets the internships
Placement Experience :
from the end of 3rd year you are eligible for the placements. the ternd of placements in CS is inceasing . recently it went to 1.2Cr from CS but it was off campus . According to last year the highest package was about 85LPA , and average is about 25LPA almost 90-93% students in CS gets the placements rest go for future studies or MBA and all
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
yearly you will have 2 sems. per sem fess is approx 1.20Lacs So yearaly you will have to pay 2.4 Lacs and your course fees for all the 4 years will be around 9.5-10Lacs Detailed fee structure per sem: Tution fess:62500 other fess(libraray,exam):5000 student activity fee:2000 medical fess:2000 establishment fee:5000 convocation fess(in final yr:1000 Hostel seat rent:5000 Mess fees: 20000 the trend of fees is not fixed .It usually keeps hiking. Recently there was a hike of 5000-7000 in hostel fees. But at the time of semester break we also get mess rebate. the mess fees and tution fees is same for all if they are from genearl categeory. If they are from reserved categeory then Tution fees is deducted from the fess. They only have to pay the mess fess and some convinience fees
Campus Life :
there are more than 70 clubs here and if i can accurately tell about the number it is like 83 or 87. INNOVISION is the largest tech fest of NITR. not only of NIT but largest in the odisha i can say. after INNO we have NITRUTSAV (cultural fest) , COSMO(multi ethnic fest) VRIDDHI(sports fest)
Hostel Facilities :
the rooms will also depend on which hostel you chose. like some have smaller rooms . but in general you can manage with 2 persons in a single room. there are also some hostels which offer you single occupancy . hostel menu is very good as compared to the other collages.
Faculty :
The faculties here are boring. I would say that not here but in every big university/college its the same. Like they will teach something that you cant even understand. You will feel this beacuse while in your inter(11-12) you would have been taught by the great teachers and that what you expect here. 1:100 faculty student ratio they exams are easy . Just practice what is taught in the class and go through the slides

Placement Experience :
Placement in KIIT is quite good here. Generally l, students gets around 8 to 10 lpa at their on campus companies visit. Also, many students start thier startups at the level of 3rd year. Also, going to abroad for study or job cases is quite frequent here.

Placement scenario in NIT Rourkela is excellent. From fifth semester students apply for internships and from seventh semester students are eligible for placements. The mass recruiters are TCS, Accenture, Amazon, TATA Steel, BHEL, SAIL, ONGC, Bharat Petroleums,etc. Highest package offered in oncampus placements is 1Cr which is offered to students of Computer Science. The average package is 10LPA. The profiles in which high packages are offered are SDE, Consultant, Senior Engineer in core departments etc.

The campus placement are much better during this recession, our institute has a good alumini which provides a good placement record each year. Most of the students gets placed on campus placement and some are from ppos

Last year we had a placement of 75 percent overall and 100 percent placement was there for my branch overall a wide range of companies come to interview students and selects the most skilled amog them the highest package gone was something around 54lpa and avg is of 5lpa.

Generally the placement star for ending of 7th semester.The students are mainly placed in different companies for the basis of the skill. My plan is after degree is get a job from college placement and another dream is work for TCS company.
