I applied to several colleges, including Silicon, SOA, and CV Raman University, Bhubaneswar. I chose CV Raman University due to its strong academic reputation, lower faculty-to-student ratio, and better research opportunities. The vibrant campus life and strategic location offering excellent networking also influenced my decision. I was rejected by Silicon and SOA due to intense competition and a slightly lower entrance exam score. The admission process at CV Raman University involved meeting eligibility criteria, clearing the preferred entrance exam, and passing group discussions and interviews. The process was competitive yet well-organized, leading to a smooth transition.
The faculty-to-student ratio plays a crucial role in shaping the educational experience. A lower ratio allows for personalized attention and better mentorship. Approachable faculty who engage with students beyond class greatly enhance learning and build strong academic relationships. Professors who are knowledgeable and passionate about teaching leave a lasting impact, while unapproachable or disorganized faculty can impede student progress and create a less supportive environment. Exams range in difficulty; challenging ones deepen understanding but may increase failure rates. A relevant, industry-aligned curriculum prepares students for their careers, while outdated content can leave them unprepared. The overall quality of education depends on balancing these factors, with the best institutions continuously adapting to meet student needs.
CV Raman University offers numerous internship opportunities with prominent companies. Notable firms like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro provide internships in roles such as software development, data analysis, and project management. Internships typically come with stipends ranging from ?5,000 to ?15,000 per month. Students have worked on projects like developing web applications for TCS and analyzing big data for Infosys. Outcomes include enhanced technical skills, real-world experience, and successful implementation of projects that often lead to full-time job offers or further research opportunities.
At CV Raman University, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra visit regularly, offering various roles. The highest package offered was ?10 LPA by TCS for a software engineering role, while the average package is around ?4.5 LPA. Approximately 80% of students secure placements annually. After completing my degree, I plan to gain industry experience in a reputable tech company, focusing on software development. Long-term, I aim to pursue a master's degree to specialize further in my field.

My campus experience at CV Raman University has been enriching. The social scene is vibrant, with the annual fest "Celegance" held in February and the sports event "Udyaan" attracting wide participation. The library offers a vast range of books and journals, ensuring easy access to resources. Classrooms are well-equipped with modern technology, enhancing the learning experience. Extracurriculars are abundant, with several hackathons fostering innovation. Student-run clubs and groups are active in areas like coding, robotics, and arts, significantly enriching campus life by offering networking and skill-building opportunities.
The hostel facilities at CV Raman University are quite good. Each room is furnished with essential amenities, including a bed, study table, chair, and wardrobe. The rooms are generally clean and well-maintained. The meal quality is decent, with a rotating menu offering a mix of Indian and continental dishes. Meals are served three times a day, and there are options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets. The hostel registration process is straightforward, involving an online application followed by an interview. The hostel fees are reasonably affordable compared to other local options. For those who prefer renting, nearby localities offer various PG accommodations with similar amenities, such as furnished rooms and Wi-Fi. These options are located within a short distance from the campus, making them convenient for students.
The faculty-to-student ratio significantly impacts the educational experience, with a lower ratio enabling more personalized attention and mentorship. Approachable faculty members, who are available outside of class and actively engage with students, enhance learning and foster strong academic relationships. Memorable professors are those who combine deep subject knowledge with a passion for teaching and mentoring. Conversely, unapproachable or disorganized faculty can hinder student progress, creating a less supportive environment. Exams vary in difficulty, with challenging ones promoting deeper understanding but potentially leading to higher failure rates. A relevant curriculum, aligned with industry trends, ensures that students are well-prepared for their careers, while outdated courses may leave them underprepared. Ultimately, the balance of these factors determines the overall quality of education, with the best institutions continually refining their approach to meet students' n
