I chose Chemicals at IITT because the chemical department here is very good at teaching and research. Having IISER Tirupati at a distance of 2 km is another huge benefit to improve the research culture of the college. The faculty-student ratio at IITT is the best among all the IITs (5:1). All the faculty members are very enthusiastic, young, open to ideas, and Ph.D. graduates either from IISc, IITs, or some university abroad. IITT follows a continuous evaluation method with 3 exams- Quiz 1, Quiz 2, and End sem. The papers are very normal and scorable too. There have been alumni (students) who have gotten into top colleges like Stanford, ETH Zurich, Princeton etc from here too. The packages here are also really impressive for a 3G IIT. This year, after the Phase 1 placement, the highest was 83 LPA, and last year it was around 70 LPA. In both years, IITT had the highest package among all the 3G and the 2G IITs (including IITH and IITI).
Read Full ReviewFaculty: student ratio is very good. The faculties are from IITs and several famous foreign institutes. There will be Term -1 and Term -2, and then end - sem in one semester. Practicals will be going on between semesters.
Read Full ReviewI had an interest in this course, so I have taken that course. The faculty and student ratio is 1:9, i.e. one professor is available for 9 students, but the goal is to reduce the ratio. All of the faculty members have minimum qualifications for Ph.D., Many of the professors are from IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, and different prestigious universities across the country. Many of the professors are working with industries and have good connections in the industry. The teaching methodology is simple, they manipulate things in a very simple and easy way which is easily understandable by the students. If students are attending the classes properly and if they are quite active, they can score good marks easily, But if the student is not active in class, it will be difficult for him to get at least passing marks.
