Course Description

NIT Jamshedpur MTech admission 2024 will be based on the GATE scores followed by CCMT counseling. For NIT Jamshedpur MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is September 29, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 13^th October, 2023. Furthermore, GATE 2024 tentative exam dates have been announced. GATE 2024 entrance exam is expected to be held in the month of February. The exam dates for GATE 2024 is on February 3,4,10 & 11.

NIT Jamshedpur MTech is a PG program offered in 16 specialisations under 9 different departments for a duration of 2 years. NIT Jamshedpur offers MTech admission on the basis of marks secured in the GATE exam and CCMT counselling method. NIT Jamshedpur M.Tech Course Highlights

NIT Jamshedpur offers a full-time M. Tech. (Master of Technology) Course with a duration of 2 Years. It is available in 16 Specializations under 9 Departments.
CCMT Seat allotment is based on the Merit list and availability of seats as per filled Choices according to the Government of India (GoI) Reservation norms.

NIT Jamshedpur M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have completed Graduation with B.Tech. Degree with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized board of the University.

NIT Jamshedpur M.Tech Selection Criteria

Selection will be according to the performance and GATE score.
Once the GATE scores are released, the board conducts the CCMT counseling process for the selected candidates on the basis of their rank.
This would be followed by an Interview. 70% weightage is given to GATE Score and 30% weightage is given to the Interview.

NIT Jamshedpur Counselling Process

The GATE CCMT Counselling process consists of five stages. These include:

Stage 1: Online CCMT Registration, Choice Filling, and Locking

Stage 2: Online CCMT Seat Allotment & Seat Acceptance Fee Deposit

Stage 3: Online CCMT Document Uploading and Submit Willingness

Candidates are required to exercise one of the following willingness when they report to the RC:

Floating: if they wish to be considered in the next round for all of their higher preferred choices.
Sliding: if they wish to be considered in the next round for their higher preferred choices only within the Institute allotted to them.
Freezing: if they are satisfied with the currently allotted seat and not interested in their higher preferred choices in the subsequent round.

Stage 4: Online CCMT Document Verification

Document verification will be done by the verifying officer of the respective allotted institute only in the online mode.
After the successful verification of documents, an ODVC (Online Document Verification Certificate) will be generated.

Stage 5: Online Admission in the Finally Allotted Institute- After successful online document verification by the finally allotted institute, the candidates will have to pay the balance admission fee to the respective Institute in online mode.

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review. Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33. Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus. Academics The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students. Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well. The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained. Placement Reports: A few major recruiting companies are (in respective branches) as follows.
