Which college is better: NIT Jamshedpur or NIT Durgapur?

The average CTC of INR 14.72 LPA while the highest CTC was recorded to be 72.5 LPA. Compared to 2021, a total placement percentage of 97.2%, with 850+ offers overall is achieved by NIT Jamshedpur this year.
As per NIRF Rankings, NIT Durgapur is ahead of NIT Jamshedpur but it is still better in terms of core branches. With an aggressive placement cell, NITJ has set a record.
Both the institutes will give you the tag of NITian, however, NIT Durgapur has a bit of an edge over NIT Jamshedpur. According to NIRF rankings and my friends’ experience, NIT Durgapur is ahead of the latter because of the following reasons.
- NIT Jamshedpur was once upon a time (about 30 years back) known for its strikes and political issues, not much has changed since then.
- Coming to NIRF rankings, NIT Durgapur ranks 47, whereas NIT Jamshedpur ranks 79 which is way behind.
- Placements at these two NIT are not much different.
