Course Description

NIT Durgapur M.Tech admission 2024 will be based on the GATE scores followed by CCMT counseling. For NIT Durgapur MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is September 29, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 13^th October, 2023. Furthermore, GATE 2024 tentative exam dates have been announced. GATE 2024 entrance exam is expected to be held in the month of February. The exam dates for GATE 2024 is on February 3,4,10 & 11.

NIT Durgapur offers MTech program for a duration of 2 years in 19 different specialisations. NIT Durgapur MTech admission is done on the basis of scores secured in the GATE exam and CCMT counselling. NIT Durgapur MTech cutoff in overall for the year 2023 ranges from 350-513.

Candidates holding a BTech degree with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA are open to apply for NIT Durgapur MTech admission 2024. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category gets a re;axation of 5% marks i.e., they are required to score atleast 55% marks. Sponsored students can also apply for this program. It is mandatory for aspirants get valid scores in the GATE exam and further register themselves for CCMT counselling through its official website.

NIT Durgapur M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates willing to apply for NIT Durgapur M.Tech program must have completed their B.E./B.Tech in the relevant discipline from any recognized university or college.
Candidates must have scored at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (on 10-point scale) in their graduation. 55% marks for the candidates of SC/ST/PwD category.

NIT Durgapur M.Tech Selection Criteria

Selections in M.Tech are based on the scores secured in the GATE entrance exam. After qualifying GATE, candidates can register themselves for CCMT counseling for the further selection process.

The admission of sponsored category students is based on the performance in the qualifying examination, written admission test, and viva-voce conducted by the Institute.

How to Apply for CCMT Counselling 2023?

Visit the official website of CCMT.
Register for the admission with a valid E-mail ID by providing GATE credentials, qualifying degrees, personal details etc.
After successful registration, Login ID and password will be generated.
Login and fill and lock their choices of programmes in the order of their preference.
Take a print out of the Registration form for future references.

NIT Durgapur M.Tech Course Details

The M.Tech program at NIT Durgapur is spread over 4 semesters.
The academic program in each semester consists of course work and/or Thesis / Project work as specified by the Senate for each specialization.
The 1st and 2nd semester of the M.Tech program consists of 24 credits in total each semester. While for 3rd and 4th semesters the credits are 13 and 14 respectively.
A candidate needs to perform a project and project seminar during the 2nd year of the program.
The institute also offers electives for the students while pursuing the program.

Also, regarding the two IIITs, IIIT Allahabad certainly does better than IIITM Gwalior in competitive programming and placements On the other hand, NIT Durgapur holds strong ties with IIT Kharagpur. The professors and students both are collaborating on various projects from both institutes. The alumni base of NIT Durgapur is also strong. It includes IIT Kharagpur graduates who have completed or are currently pursuing higher degrees at IIT. There is a better opportunity in NIT Durgapur as compared to others, in case you are prepared to utilize these. If you will seek placement after M.Tech, go for Allahabad. The campus doesn’t have an active research interface for undergraduate degrees. Jadavpur University students receive way better learning resources and guidance for higher studies. Located at the heart of Kolkata, there is better availability of coaching for competitive examinations. It offers better placements as well.
