Course Details

IIT Kharagpur MHRM Admissions 2024 are ongoing now and the last date to apply is February 25, 2024. THe institute will conduct GD & PI for admission to the program from March 15 to March 17, 2024. The college will declare result for admission on April 25 to March 05 2024 (tentatively). IIT Kharagpur offers a full-time postgraduate program MHRM a specialized program in HR. It is a two-year-long degree stretching over 4 semesters.

The minimum eligibility required is to have a graduation degree in Engineering or a postgraduate degree in any field with a minimum of 60% marks.
The admission is based on a valid CAT score after which the students have to appear for a group discussion and Personal Interview Round.

IIT Kharagpur MHRM Eligibility Criteria

4-year Graduation Degree in Engineering, or a Postgraduate degree in any subject OR Master’s degree in any subject.
GE/ NC-OBC: Minimum of 60% marks (or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale), in their previous qualifications.
Admission will be based on CGPA if their previous qualification marks are specified in the form of a CGPA Grade System.
Shortlisting based on CAT scores and academic profile, followed by PI (Personal Interview).

Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) is the flagship postgraduate course of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. a specialized program in HR melding technical expertise with managerial acumen to form socially conscientious leaders.

One of my friends had the absolute delight to appear for the PGDBA interview conducted by a multifaceted panel. He shared his interview experience which might help you a bit. Before the interview began, he was taken for a Verification Round wherein, every detail of academics scores or other profile-related information was cross-checked on the IIMs format. Once they received an IIM-verified document they were escorted to the interview venue. The interview room had 3 panels; one from each institute obviously. They asked for his brief introduction first. On hearing about his interest in Data Analytics, panelists probed him further with questions like What is Data Analytics Difference between analytics and analysis Contemporary Data analytics and ML They further asked him why he chose Analytics. He told them that the increasing demand for the same in Europe and China made him realize how much India lacks in this aspect and thus he wanted to invest his efforts in Data Analytics. Next, he was tested on his knowledge of Statistics and Mathematics with questions like Difference between mean, mode, Media Skewness Relationship of mean, mode, and median in a positive Skew graph Hypothesis Testing What is Anova The next panelist took the reins and gave him a problem from SPC quality control. He asked him how do you know that his process in electric bulb making is as per customer Norma and is statistically controlled. My friend was able to answer most of the questions confidently and even solved this problem through charts. Lastly, he was asked about his extracurricular activities and hobbies. The discussion ended with him asking about GST and the difference between GST and previous tax. Even though he gave a common answer, he managed to convert the interview.

ISI Kolkata is the best option for MSc in Maths, followed by IISc. IIT KGP is reputed in the technology domain, but for core science subjects, it’s not a good option. If you are interested to pursue pure Mathematics, choosing ISI is the best option among these. It specializes in the field. You will get better career opportunities and exposure in the field.

The competition to get into NLSIU is very high due to the merit-based system and they have equally impressive placements. IIT Kharagpur, on the other hand, has a very high number of graduates each year, but they do not get offers as high as NLSIU. But you should be considering which of these colleges would add more value to you. Even if you choose to do an LLB from IIT Kharagpur, you should know that it is the first premier institute for engineering. Whereas NLSIU is one of the best universities in the country for law. Do not choose a college just because it has better placement, instead focus on which college is better for your career in law. A degree from NLSIU would always hold a better position than a degree in Law from an IIT. There are so many people that drop out of college just because they failed to research better about their career path and what was good for them.

The discipline of analytics (technical side) necessitates solid coding abilities, and therefore if you want to pursue a career in analytics, you should start learning the necessary skills now. Work Experience: It is not necessary to have prior work experience to enroll in the course. However, relevant analytical experience aids in extracting greater value from the course. According to your assessment of your interests, you have a preference for fields involving mathematics and statistics. Analytical science is an excellent fit in that regard. I would recommend that you go into MOOCs like Coursera, audacity, and your willingness to learn more about this field.
