₹ 65,860If you are an academically interested person, both NIT Kurukshetra and PEC Chandigarh will cherish you, and you will get very good opportunities in both colleges. Here are some key points to consider when deciding between the two:
Commonalities between the two colleges:
Where PEC Chandigarh is better:
Where NIT Kurukshetra is better:
Ultimately, the decision between NIT Kurukshetra and PEC Chandigarh depends on your personal preferences and priorities. Consider factors such as location, campus facilities, faculty, and alumni network when making your choice.
I have a few friends from both NIT Trichy and CEG and here is what I gathered from my conversations with them.
Overall, NIT Trichy will be a better choice than CEG.
Among the above institutes, PEC Chandigarh is the best choice, considering the factors of availability in streams, fee structure, etc. If you have a specific branch in mind to pursue, then you can definitely choose PEC Chandigarh. But if you are considering a non-IIIT or non-NIT tag then you can opt for DTU.
The table below gives a brief level of comparison among the institutes.

Key Highlights:
Therefore, PEC Chandigarh is a better choice considering the factors stated above. Other than these, all the three institutes are incomparable to each other as they offer similar quality placement.
I don’t think comparing both the colleges i.eAnna University College of Engineering and NIT Trichy is justified. This is because both are equally good in almost all the parameters. Both ranked among the top Engineering colleges in India. I have made a slight comparison based on the following factors to make a better choice:
Placements: NIT Trichy has an upper hand in placements. More core companies visit NITs in general than CEGs. This is because NIT is an established brand name.
Higher studies: CEG is slightly privileged in this aspect as it considers the TN state boards marks whereas NIT considers JEE performance. So the former is easier than the latter.
College life: College life at CEG is better because of its location. You can eat outside the hostel as many restaurants are available near the college. But NIT Trichy is far from the city so options for exploring are fewer.
Lastly, keep in mind that if you are choosing NIT then go for Trichy or Kurukshetra only. Don’t go for any other NIT leaving CEG.
NIT Puducherry is very new compared to College of Engineering Guindy (CEG). Let me share some points which might help you decide.
Categories | CEG | NIT Puducherry |
Course Fee | 2 lakh | 5.49 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 80% | 65% |
Highest CTC | 22 LPA | 15 LPA |
Average CTC | 7.5 LPA | 4 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | TCS, HP, Cognizant, Dell, etc. | L&T, EY, JP Morgan, TCS, etc. |
It is recommended that you go for CEG if you have to choose between these two. But if your choice only is NIT Puducherry then you can opt for it. It is a good college but as it started functioning recently, it is better to go for an experienced one.
One of my friends studied at College of Engineering Guindy (CEG). According to him, it is a good institution, CSE being the highlighted department. Let me share the details I got to know from him.
Categories | College of Engineering Guindy |
Course Fee | 2 lakhs |
Placement Percentage | 80% |
Highest CTC | 22 LPA |
Average CTC | 7.5 LPA |
Lowest CTC | 3 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Amazon, Wipro, TCS, Dell, etc. |
Therefore, after considering everything I think it will be better to join CEG, as it will develop you to achieve success in anything.
Well, It totally depends on the course that you take in the respective Universities. As far as MBA goes, Operations, Marketing, Systems, or any other stream of management that is related to Engineering are better off in College of Engineering, Guindy and HR, Marketing, and streams related to arts are at their best in the University of Madras.
Talking in terms of placements both colleges are equal. In terms of tuition fees, the College of Engineering, Guindy is quite cheap. Whereas you will get better exposure at Madras Institute of Technology.
Here is a brief outline of both colleges.
Parameters | College of Engineering, Guindy | Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet |
Tuition fees | INR 50,000 | INR 60,000 |
Placement Average | 80% | 71.4% |
Average CTC | INR 6 LPA | INR 7 LPA |
So, choose according to your convenience.
