VIT Vellore offers B.Tech program in 10 specializations namely, CSE, Computer Science & Business Systems, Biotechnology, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Data Sciences, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc. The major specializations such as Computer Science, Mechanical and Electronics & Communication include further specializations. Admission to the VIT Vellore BTech program is based on VITEEE exam score, the expected cutoff for the current year is given in the table below:

VIT Vellore B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the B.Tech program must check the eligibility criteria set by the authority:
- Candidate must be a Indian National / NRI/ PIO/ OCI holder.
- Must have passed 10+2
- Minimum marks obtained must be 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Biology (PCM/ PCB) in class 12 or equivalent exam.
- Born on or after July 1, 1999.
VIT Vellore B.Tech Selection Criteria
Candidates for admission are selected based on VITEEE marks. Students applying with JEE Main and SAT exam score are also eligible to apply. The university will shortlist candidates for admission based on cutoff marks set by them. However, VIT Vellore does not release its cutoff list. Examinees in the top merit i.e. from 1 to 20,000 are called for participating in Phase 1 counselling on multiple dates.
During the counselling process, the seats will be allocated to the candidates based on their All India Rank and the choices filled by them. Candidates are expected to carry the following documents at the time of VITEEE Counselling. The candidates are required to carry the following documents to the counseling:
- Rank card, Admit card & Counselling letter of VITEEE
- Class Xth certificate in support of Date of Birth
- Marks sheet of qualifying examination
- Community & Domicile certificate, if applicable
- Demand Draft in favor of “VIT University” payable at Vellore.
How to apply VIT Vellore B.Tech?
VITEEE application form can be issued in four different ways:
You need to go to the official website of VIT University. Register yourself; you will receive a password on your email. Now login again with the new password and fill all details. A new registration number will be generated. Now pay application fee of INR 1150/- through net banking/credit card/debit card/ paytm. After payment, upload your scanned photograph (3.5 cm to 4.5 cm) & signature (6 cm to 2 cm) in jpg/jpeg format. Do not send any document to the university.
Note: If a transaction is not found successful due to network error even after the deduction of amount from your account. Please wait for three working days; you can proceed further after receiving the mail from VIT. In case the transaction found incomplete after four working days you should send the mail to ugadmission@vit.ac.in
You can obtain the prospectus in person from any campus of the university by handing over the DD of INR 1200 in favor of “VIT university” payable at Vellore.
Students can also obtain the prospectus & application form through various post offices located all over India by paying INR 1200 in cash. Fill the form using a Black ball point pen & shade the bubbles through pencil. Affix the recent colour photograph (Do not attest the photo). Write down the valid e-mail ID & correct test centre. Also fill the details regarding hostel accommodation if you need.
After filling the computerized OMR sheet properly, write a mailing address clearly on the self- addressed envelope & send it through a registered post to the university.
Note 1: Students, who have applied through DD, have to send the hard copy of Application form (duly filled along with relevant documents) to VIT University.
Note 2: Application forms once sold shall not be taken back under any situation. Fees once paid will not be remitted.
