Course Description

IIT Dharwad BTech Admissions 2023 are over. JoSAA has released the round 1 – 6 cutoff for IIT Dharwad. The IIT Dharwad BTech CSE Cutoff 2023 remained 3410-4232 for General Category. IIT Dharwad offers BTech as its flagship program where admissions are granted as per JEE Advanced score followed by JoSAA counselling. JoSAA releases 6 round of seat allotment for admission to IIT Goa. Check JEE Advanced 2024 Preparation Strategy

JEE Main registrations are expected to start from November 2023 and the exam will be conducted in 2 sessions. Candidates having a valid JEE Main score need to register for JEE Advanced, where registration will commence in April 2024.

IIT Dharwad follows a credit-based curriculum with Semester Performance Index (SPI) and Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) systems.
Hands-On Engineering: quick exposure to the latest/advanced technology/tool without compromising on the basic/required understanding.
In this program, a student is allowed to do a project under the supervision of a faculty member at IIT Dharwad and a mentor from industry. The motivation for the program is driven by the belief that engagement with state-of-the-art (in industry/academia) complements student learning inside the Institute portals.

IIT Dharwad B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants who wish to join the B.Tech program are required to complete their 10+2 board examination with PCM from a recognized institute.
Candidates must at least score a minimum of 50% marks in their examination.

IIT Dharwad B.Tech Selection Criteria

Selection to the course will be based on the marks secured in JEE Advanced.
The seats will be allotted based on the rank/ scores obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination.
After the JoSAA counselling, candidates will have to visit the IIT campus they have been allotted to finish the admission process.
Candidates can submit their preferences for admission into various IITs of the country while filling up the application form.

Before deciding, you should check out the seniors at both colleges and see where you fit in easily. On the other hand, if you are interested in Civil Engineering, IIT Dharwad is an excellent option. It is a well-established institute with a good reputation in the field of engineering. If you haven't figured out your interests yet, then it is suggested that you opt for BITS Pilani in Computer Science. DTU and IIT Dharwad both give head-on competition to each other in all fields. DTU is ranked 36th by NIRF and 2nd by Times Engineering Survey. IIT Dharwad was recently established, and it's making all efforts to be ranked among the best. Placement opportunities are impressive in both colleges. More than 90% of the students are placed every year. Admission: Students seeking admission to both the colleges need to appear for the JEE mains exam. For IIT Dharwad students also need to get a good score in the JEE advanced. Total ECE seat intake at DTU is 270 and 50 at IIT Dharwad. The required cutoff for the two institutes is as follows. Institutes Cut off IIT Dharwad(EE) 5010-7048 DTU(EEE) 40786 Course Fees: The course fee structure of both colleges is pretty much higher. Day scholars have to pay a separate fee structure as they do not avail of the hostel and mess facilities. College DTU IIT Dharwad BTech(per year) INR 1.66 lakhs INR 2.25 lakhs Faculty: Both the colleges have excellent faculty in the EE and EEE department. You should choose the branch of your choice and the institute which is offering the batter program for that branch. IIT Dharwad was established in 2016 and among the new IITs. IIT Bombay is the mentor institute for IIT Dharwad, so the course curriculum for CSE is similar to that of IIT Bombay. The institute has well-equipped laboratories and highly experienced professors. The total course fee for CSE is around 9 lakhs. In 2019 the required cutoff for CSE was 2796-7437. Placements: The institute has a Career Development Cell (CDC), which helps facilitate placements and internships in industry, academic, and government sectors. IIT Dharwad- It currently functions in a transit campus hence all facilities cannot be availed as of now but the proposed campus is supposed to be spread across 400 acres and full of ample opportunities for students. Curriculum IIT Dharwad More than half of the faculty members are educated from a foreign university and hold a PhD degree. Since it is a new college, it is mentored by old colleges like IIT-K, IIT-M and students are even taught by SWAYAM courses offered by professors from the old IITs. NITK The faculty-student ratio at NITK is 1:35. Along with theoretical knowledge, practical coding sessions and hackathons are regularly organised to encourage students to develop an excellent grasp at programming. NIT Surathkal or NITK is one of the premier engineering institutes of the country and has a strong alumni network and industry connect.
