Course Curriculum Overview:

First of all, I wanted to get admission to IIT and secondly, I am of my interest branch. The faculty members are Ph.D. and master qualified. The faculty: student ratio at IIT Goa is generally good, with around 1:15 to 1:20. This means that for every faculty member, there are around 15 to 20 students, which allows for individual attention to be given to each student. The term exams at IIT Goa are conducted on time, as per the academic calendar. The exams are generally challenging, and students need to prepare well to pass them. However, the difficulty level is commensurate with the standards of an IIT, and students who have studied diligently are generally able to perform well in the exams. The institute has a rigorous academic program, and students are expected to put in significant effort and time to succeed. However, the faculty members are supportive and provide guidance to students who are struggling with the coursework.

IIT Goa - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITG]: 6 answered questions

Ques
Which is better to join for the CSE branch, IIT Goa or IIT Dharwad?

● Top Answer By Mayank Jain on 29 Jul 22

Ans
IIT Goa will be a better option for joining CSE. It was under the mentorship of IIT Goa and a good coding culture is slowly developing on campus. The placement has been great for CSE over the last few years. Reputed MNCs like Microsoft, Google, Intel, Bosch, Paytm, etc. visited IIT Goa placements. During the last placement drive, students of CSE received the median CTC of INR 21 LPA.

Ques
Which option is better IIT Goa CSE….liit Allahabad IT IIIT Delhi CSAM?

● Top Answer By Chayan Sinha on 05 Mar 21

Ans
Although IIT Goa is newly established and one of the least known IITs in the current time, it’s a decent option to go for among the three. IIT Goa grants you a perfect destination that everyone craves for. The location will give you both a perfect environment to study and relax when bored or stressed. IIT is better than IIIT in terms of its brand value but then if considered from placements and alumni network, IIIT Allahabad and IIT Delhi are definitely better in the current scenario. They are more established and have the advantage of better placements and alumni cell. However, there is more to college life than only studying. Friends and environment definitely have their effects. Almost every engineering students have Goa on their bucket list. Staying in Goa for 4 years will also be an adventure. So, you should definitely consider IIT Goa for CSE.

All three of these IITs are new and offer similar academics for CSE. IIT Dharwad and IIT Goa are under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. While IIT Jammu is under the mentorship of IIT Delhi. So, you will get to learn from some of the best faculties in the field.  In terms of placements, IIT Jammu is a little ahead. During IIT Jammu placements 2022, the average package for B.Tech CSE stood around INR 21 LPA.

Ques
Which is better, IIT Dharwad or IIT Goa in terms of accessibility, infrastructure, hostel and mess?

● Top Answer By Pratik Parikh on 15 Apr 23

Ans
Both IIT Dharwad and IIT Goa are premier engineering institutes in India and offer excellent academic programs in various fields of engineering. However, if you are looking for a specific recommendation based on accessibility, infrastructure, hostel, and mess, it would be suggested to consider the following: Accessibility: IIT Goa is located in the state of Goa, which is a popular tourist destination and has good connectivity to major cities through air, rail, and road networks. IIT Dharwad is located in Karnataka and has good connectivity by road, rail, and air, with Hubli Airport being the nearest airport. Infrastructure: IIT Goa has a newly constructed campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities, including a modern library, computer labs, auditoriums, and sports facilities. IIT Dharwad has a green campus spread over a large area and boasts a modern infrastructure, including smart classrooms, well-equipped labs, and a central library. Hostel and Mess: IIT Goa has well-maintained hostels and mess facilities that provide hygienic food and comfortable accommodation to students. IIT Dharwad also has good hostel and mess facilities with separate hostels for boys and girls and a variety of food options in the mess. Based on the above factors, both IIT Dharwad and IIT Goa are good options to consider. However, it would be suggested to choose IIT Goa for its better accessibility and modern infrastructure.

Ques
Is it good to join an IIT which has no permanent campus like IIT Goa?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 05 Mar 21

Ans
One of my friends chose another college over IIIT-D as the college back then was in its developing stage and was a new brand. The college was not established properly, the campus was under construction. The classes were taking place from the campus of NSIT-D. She didn’t have much idea about the IIIT brand name and chose to opt for a more established college.  However, during her four years at the institution, IIIT-D became established with an above-average placement rate. The takeaway from this experience is as follows.  Brand name matters, even when it is a new institute.  Do a little research on the faculty of the institute. All your academics depend on the faculty. (That’s something IIIT-D had in the above case). Go for the best options you can find in your rank. Always compare the options you are getting. Look for the best name, faculty, and other factors. If it’s a choice between the college and branch. Go for the branch because the branch will drive your future and your career. These are a few of the things that you should keep in mind while making a decision.
