Course Description

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Goa is currently accepting applications for admission to its PhD Program (Regular and Full Time) under Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme and for the academic session 2023-24 (Spring Semester) commencing from January 2024. The course duration is of 3 years or 36 months, divided into 6 semesters. For admission into PhD courses, the applicant should have a master’s degree in respective subjects with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. The last date for submitting online application and completing the payment for the Visvesvaraya PhD scheme and for the Spring Semester is 16^th October and 31^st Ocrober, 2023 respectively. The classes for selected candidates for Spring Semester will start on January 09, 2024. IIT Goa Ph.D. Eligibility criteria

For admission into any domain of Ph.D. from IIT Goa, the applicant:

Must possess a master’s degree in a relevant subject with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (5% relaxation for reserved category applicants).
Must have a valid GATE score/Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR or DST INSPIRE Fellowship in the relevant streams.

IIT Goa Ph.D. Admission guidelines

Candidates can apply to its Ph.D. course through the institute’s online official application portal. The candidates however must have a valid GATE score/Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR or DST INSPIRE Fellowship in the relevant streams.

Fill with your valid email ID.
Fill the branch applying for (Fill separate applications for different programme).
Please click on submit, you will be redirected to login page.
Please login to the portal.
Candidates are required to fill details as given in the form and save the form.
Candidates are required to upload the recent Passport Photograph (Maximum 200KB), scanned copy of Signature (Maximum 12KB), detailed CV, and Mark sheets as per eligibility (Maximum 400KB). The CV should mention the projects completed (bachelors and masters) and awards/recognition you received.
The system will not allow you to Submit the application without filling payment details.

After filling all the details, please Preview and Submit your application form.After Final Submission, the system will not allow any further editing.

IIT Goa grants you a perfect destination that everyone craves for. The location will give you both a perfect environment to study and relax when bored or stressed. IIT is better than IIIT in terms of its brand value but then if considered from placements and alumni network, IIIT Allahabad and IIT Delhi are definitely better in the current scenario. They are more established and have the advantage of better placements and alumni cell. However, there is more to college life than only studying. Friends and environment definitely have their effects. Almost every engineering students have Goa on their bucket list. Staying in Goa for 4 years will also be an adventure. So, you should definitely consider IIT Goa for CSE.

According to 2022 statistics, IIT Goa placements concluded with an average CTC of INR 20.6 LPA. The highest CTC offered was INR 1.12 Crore per annum. Microsoft, Google, Intel, OYO, Paytm, etc. were some of the major recruiters that took part in the placement drive. Overall, it is a good institute. The college was not established properly, the campus was under construction. The classes were taking place from the campus of NSIT-D. She didn’t have much idea about the IIIT brand name and chose to opt for a more established college. However, during her four years at the institution, IIIT-D became established with an above-average placement rate. The takeaway from this experience is as follows. Brand name matters, even when it is a new institute. Do a little research on the faculty of the institute. All your academics depend on the faculty. (That’s something IIIT-D had in the above case). Go for the best options you can find in your rank. Always compare the options you are getting. Look for the best name, faculty, and other factors. If it’s a choice between the college and branch. Go for the branch because the branch will drive your future and your career. These are a few of the things that you should keep in mind while making a decision.
