Read Full ReviewThe reason I chose Mathematics and Computing over other branches is that you will get exposure in CSE courses as well as in Analytical thinking. And the other reason that everyone knows is PACKAGES. The faculties here are too experienced in that they know what doubt can come to student's minds so they teach in that way so that maximum doubts are cleared. If you study seriously for 1-2 hrs a day then you will get very good marks, students find it difficult because there are so many extracurricular activities that students can't concentrate on their studies.
You all first have to prepare for the most prestigious exam in India, i.e. JEE Advanced. Read Full ReviewIIT Goa will be a better option for joining CSE. It was under the mentorship of IIT Goa and a good coding culture is slowly developing on campus. The placement has been great for CSE over the last few years. Reputed MNCs like Microsoft, Google, Intel, Bosch, Paytm, etc. visited IIT Goa placements. During the last placement drive, students of CSE received the median CTC of INR 21 LPA.
Although IIT Goa is newly established and one of the least known IITs in the current time, it’s a decent option to go for among the three. IIT Goa grants you a perfect destination that everyone craves for. The location will give you both a perfect environment to study and relax when bored or stressed. IIT is better than IIIT in terms of its brand value but then if considered from placements and alumni network, IIIT Allahabad and IIT Delhi are definitely better in the current scenario. They are more established and have the advantage of better placements and alumni cell.
However, there is more to college life than only studying. Friends and environment definitely have their effects. Almost every engineering students have Goa on their bucket list. Staying in Goa for 4 years will also be an adventure. So, you should definitely consider IIT Goa for CSE.
All three of these IITs are new and offer similar academics for CSE. IIT Dharwad and IIT Goa are under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. While IIT Jammu is under the mentorship of IIT Delhi. So, you will get to learn from some of the best faculties in the field.
In terms of placements, IIT Jammu is a little ahead. During IIT Jammu placements 2022, the average package for B.Tech CSE stood around INR 21 LPA.
In terms of academics, extracurriculars, faculties, and college environment, IIT Goa is good. It also has a good placement record. According to 2022 statistics, IIT Goa placements concluded with an average CTC of INR 20.6 LPA. The highest CTC offered was INR 1.12 Crore per annum. Microsoft, Google, Intel, OYO, Paytm, etc. were some of the major recruiters that took part in the placement drive.
Overall, it is a good institute. But it still needs some work building a decent infrastructure.
Both IIT Dharwad and IIT Goa are premier engineering institutes in India and offer excellent academic programs in various fields of engineering. However, if you are looking for a specific recommendation based on accessibility, infrastructure, hostel, and mess, it would be suggested to consider the following:
Accessibility:
Infrastructure:
Hostel and Mess:
Based on the above factors, both IIT Dharwad and IIT Goa are good options to consider. However, it would be suggested to choose IIT Goa for its better accessibility and modern infrastructure.
One of my friends chose another college over IIIT-D as the college back then was in its developing stage and was a new brand. The college was not established properly, the campus was under construction. The classes were taking place from the campus of NSIT-D. She didn’t have much idea about the IIIT brand name and chose to opt for a more established college.
However, during her four years at the institution, IIIT-D became established with an above-average placement rate. The takeaway from this experience is as follows.
These are a few of the things that you should keep in mind while making a decision.
