Course Information

Course Description

IIT Ropar M.Sc admission 2024 will be based on the IIT JAM scores followed by counselling. IIT JAM registrations are over now. The JAM Admit Cards will be available on January 08, 2024, on the online admission portal. Along with that, the IIT JAM 2024 examination will take place on February 11, 2024.

IIT Ropar offers a full-time MSc program in 3 specializations i.e Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. The institute grants its MSc admission based on the scores secured in the IIT JAM exam.

IIT Ropar MSc has a total seat intake of 75 where 25 seats are reserved for each of the departments. This program consists of electives, project works, seminars and core courses. Besides that, the institute provides students with scholarships to encourage them mentally and support them financially to pursue the PG courses. These scholarships are provided based on the students’ merit, academic performance and also family income.

IIT Ropar M.Sc Admission Criteria

Admissions to the M.Sc program in any specialization are conducted on thebased on scored in the IIT JAM entrance test. The entrance test is conducted only through online mode. Applications for the entrance test are accepted only through online mode.
Only those candidates who qualify for the JAM test and whose names appear on the merit list will be able to apply for admission to Academic Programs available at IIT Ropar.

IIT Ropar MSc. Application Procedure

Candidates can apply for the entrance test only through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS).
Candidates have to register by providing their name, a valid e-mail address, mobile number, and password.
An enrolment ID will be sent to the candidate’s email and mobile number. These credentials are to be used by the candidate for all the exam-related information.
Candidates can log in and complete their examination and form, upload the photographs, signatures, and other documents.
Pay the application fees through electronic payment modes. Application fee for female (all categories), SC/ST/PWD students is- INR 750 (one test paper) and INR 1050 (two test papers). For other students application fee is – INR 1500 (one test paper) and INR 2100 (two test papers).

IIT Ropar M.Sc Course Details

The two-year program offered by IIT Ropar is divided into 4 semesters. Candidates can choose the electives in the final semester of the program. IIT Ropar MSC. Scholarships

M.Sc. students will be eligible to receive Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship from the first semester based on All India Rank in JAM-2023.
The scholarship will be renewed every semester based on satisfactory performance in the academic proThe scholarshipaappliesicable to the top 25% of the students in the M.Sc. program and gross annual family income less than Rs.4.5 lakhs.
The present value of the scholarship is - exempt from Tuition Fees and the recipient is eligible to get a pocket allowance of Rs. 1000/- per month.

Ques. What are IIT Ropar M.Sc Selection Criteria?

Ans. The candidates will be chosen based on their performance in the IIT JAM examination. Candidates who pass the entrance exam must then register for JAM counseling. Admissions will be conducted in three rounds, with selected candidates required to accept their seats by paying the admission fee.

The Head of the Department, Professor Deepak Kashyap is a highly experienced member of the faculty and has taught at IIT Roorkee. The students look up to him a lot. If we talk about the infrastructure, then new and advanced labs have been commissioned. In addition to that, a state-of-the-art Soil-Water-Plant lab has been set up which covers an area of 2.5 acres in the new campus.
