Yes, NIT Calicut is better than VNIT and COEP. If you are getting your desired branch at NIT C go for it. It has better brand recognition and offers better placements and opportunities. NIT Calicut placements 2022 ended with an average CTC of INR 13 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 67.6 LPA. 

Among these, NIT Calicut is the best option for Computer Science and Engineering. On an overall scale, it is better compared to VNIT Nagpur and NIT Rourkela. NIT Calicut placements are around 100% for CSE. Reputed companies such as Amazon, Infosys, Cisco, and Microsoft recruit CSE students through the campus placements. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 17 LPA. 

When speaking in terms of placement records, IIIT Allahabad is known only for B.Tech. However, M.Tech at the same institution tends to not get great offers. In fact, most companies do not permit M.Tech students from IIITA to sit for specific interviews.  Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Hashedin, Morgan Stanley didn’t allow M.Tech students to sit for the interviews one particular year. One of my acquaintances who has graduated from VNIT has asked me to choose my institute by keeping the following points in mind. VNIT for metallurgy would be a suitable choice for you if you don’t have a particular liking. Apart from that, the metallurgy of VNIT holds an enviable position in India. The syllabus for metallurgy is vast and involves a lot of memorization. If you want CS and unfortunately end up not getting it, the next logical step would be to choose IT. The syllabus of IT and CS are almost the same. In the big picture, it will have little importance if you complete your B.Tech from VNIT or NIT Raipur. You will have a degree and you will not regret the decision you made. IT has a lot of scopes. Later down the road, if you want to continue with your higher studies, you will be capable of switching to almost any department pertaining to computers. IT from NIT Raipur is an excellent choice. The scope in the metallurgy sector is limited nowadays. It is obviously your call, though. There is vast scope in IT like research, job, etc.

BITS Goa is anytime better than all the NITs in India. The following are the reasons. BITS Goa has a huge brand name. It is a Tier-1 engineering college in India. The placement of the institute is excellent as compared to VNIT. BITS Goa has an average 90% placement success rate. Overall, the fee of BITS Goa is on the higher side. But it is worth paying for its brand name. To compare two institutes, you need to consider various factors. Mostly, the students of ECE are thoroughly engaged in coding and are known to study ECE because of reasons that center around only graduating. While, on the flip side, in VNIT Nagpur, the students pursue ECE because they are interested in it. However, the placements of IT field are more likely to surpass the number of placements seen in ECE fields. This is because the core hardware companies relatively do not share the same amount of trust with the freshers. If you want to obtain a better salary package after graduating from a B.Tech course, then going for IIIT, Allahabad can be a superior option. While, if you relevantly want to pursue your career in most of the core ECE companies, then it is suggested that you opt for VNIT, Nagpur. You are comparing two different branches; Computer (CSE) and Electrical (EEE). If you are naturally inclined towards a particular branch, then you should choose it no matter the institute. If you are not sure about the branch then let me share some facts I got to know while researching about the institutes. Extra-Curricular Activities – NIT Surathkal is way better than VNIT Nagpur. You will always find some activity happening on the campus. VNIT Nagpur does not have any such activities being conducted regularly. Campus location – VNIT Nagpur is actually better than NIT Surathkal. Although the Surathkal beach which is right beside the college looks good in photos, the same cannot be said in person. The VNIT Nagpur campus on the other hand is clean and green. Workshops – At VNIT Nagpur most of the workshops organized by the clubs are paid while at NIT Surathkal most of them were free and open to all. They may provide better opportunities than VNIT. However, there are decent placements for mechanical engineering both in VJTI and VNIT. There are almost eight batches for the department with 60-90 students. Student Activities- VNIT excels in expectations than COEP & VJTI with myriad festivals, clubs, and extra-curricular. Research after Bachelors’- Lots of VNIT students get themselves into research work after their graduation. However, there is no available information for VJTI and COEP. Considering all the aspects listed above, VNIT seems a better choice for mechanical engineering than COEP Pune and VJTI Mumbai.

VJTI Mumbai is better than VNIT Nagpur. Located in Mumbai, it offers good insight into market trends and current industry practices. The institute has a dedicated faculty pool. Many of the professors are actively engaged in research.  VJIT placements are excellent. During 2021 campus drive, Google offered the highest CTC of INR 58 LPA. Microsft, Apple, and Amazon were some of the other major recruiters.
