IIM Ahmedabad Scholarships are offered with the sole objective to ensure that no student is left out from the opportunity to pursue PGP / PGP- FABM at IIM Ahmedabad. Thus, IIM Ahmedabad has initiated Need based Scholarships over and above other financial assistance offered by the Government of India, Alumni and even industries/ corporations.

IIM Ahmedabad Special Need Based Scholarships 

  • Eligibility:- Students in PGP & PGP-FABM with gross annual family income less than INR 15,00,000 during the previous fiscal year are eligible to apply, subject to verification. 
  • Factors like a candidate's past earnings (if any), the size of their student loans, and their family's income.
  • Family’s income shall be estimated of both parent/guardian/s and spouse if married. The income before tax deduction shall be considered.
  • Scholarship amount:- IIM Ahmedabad will review each applicant's economic situation using factors like family's movable and immovable assets, the number of dependents, and factors it may find relevant in order to calculate the amount of financial aid they will need.

IIM Ahmedabad Scholarships for SC/ST’s 

  • For 10 months, all postgraduate SC/ST students receive a scholarship of INR 150 per month.

IIM Ahmedabad Exit Scholarships

IIM Ahmedabad Exit Scholarships are further classified into the following scholarships:-

  • Students who graduate from IIM Ahmedabad and going for entrepreneurship

Eligibility:- The mentioned monthly stipend shall be provided for at most three consecutive years to two students from every batch opting out of placements and having business ideas. 

Scholarship amount:- A monthly stipend of INR 30,000 is initiated by IIM Ahmedabad with an aim to encourage the graduating students to become entrepreneurs.

  • IIM Ahmedabad graduates who join “Not-for-Profit” organization 

Eligibility:- Two students from each batch will receive financial aid for a maximum of three consecutive years in an effort to choose careers in non-profit organizations. 

Scholarship amount:- The amount of financial aid per student might range from INR 3.0 to 4.0 lakhs annually.

  • Financial Assistance for students who graduate from IIM Ahmedabad and pursue doctoral studies 

Eligibility:- Two students will each get this grant for a maximum of three years to encourage them to pursue PhD studies in India or abroad. 

Scholarship amount:- Scholarship amounts might range from INR 3.0 to 4.0 lakhs per student per year.

IIM Ahmedabad SC/ST Scholarships (Merit-cum means)) 

Eligibility:- The financial aid is awarded to meritorious SC/ST students, whose family income does not exceed INR 4,50,000 per annum. 

Minority Welfare Scholarships (Merit-cum-Means)

Eligibility:- Students from the minority communities, whose family income does not exceed INR2.50 lakhs per annum. The financial assistance is rewarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India.

Scholarships for Students with Disabilities (Merit-cum-Means)

Eligibility:- Awarded to meritorious DA/PWD students, whose family income does not exceed INR6,00,000 per annum.

  • Scholarships offered by Alumni 

PGP Alumni Endowment Funds 

Eligibility:- 9 students from PGP 1 & PGP/FABM II students from economically and socially challenged backgrounds.The eligible students shall be based on their financial status, every year.

Scholarship amount:- Each student would be eligible to get an amount in the range of INR 2,00,000 - 3,00,000. 

Important:- Beneficiary students availing financial aid should ensure to contribute within 5-7 years of their graduation, a sum at least equal to but preferably substantially more than what s/he received towards providing similar support to such students.

Class of PGP 2001, Peri Viswanath Scholarship 

  • Brought into execution since batch 2013-15, by the batch-mates of Mr. Peri Viswanath who died in a road accident, this scholarship aims to extend financial support to one student in the PGP/PGP-FABM. 
  • Eligibility:- The merit criterion being the first year performance in PGP/PGP-FABM and past academic and the mean criterion of annual family income below INR 15,00,000. 
  • Scholarship Amount:- The amount of the financial assistance is INR 2,00,000 per year and the scholar will get INR 4,00,000 over 2 years. The criteria for the award would be Merit-cum-Means. 
  • Important:- To be awarded at the beginning of the second year, the beneficiary student should contribute in future (within and not later than 5-7 years of passing out from the institute) a sum at least equal to but preferably substantially more than what s/he received towards providing similar support to such students.

Shri GC Mital Entrepreneurship Aid 

  • Eligibility:- Only 1 student (who will be the graduating student of PGP/PGP-FABM, who intends to start own venture, opting out of the IIM Ahmedabad placement process), with an educational loan of a minimum INR 1,00,000 and those with a combined family income below INR 8,00,000 per annum. 
  • The selection of the awardee shall be done on the basis of a business plan submitted by the applicant.
  • Scholarship Amount:- The aid amount of INR 2,00,000 would be given to the student on the day of convocation. The above financial aid has been implemented from the batch of 2012.

Smt. J Nagamma Memorial Award

  • Eligibility:- Awarded to one PGP first year student at the end of first year as a merit scholarship based on academic performance. 
  • Scholarship Amount:- The scholarship amount is INR 15,000.

General rules and regulations for qualifying for IIM Ahmedabad Scholarships 

Following are the general rules and regulations for qualifying IIM Ahmedabad Scholarships:- 

  • Students violating the Institute’s disciplinary norms or proved to be guilty of misconduct will not be considered for the award of any scholarships. 
  • A student can accept more than one scholarship/financial aid in an academic year, provided:-i) there is no objection from the sponsors, and ii) the total amount of such scholarships/financial aid put together does not exceed the actual yearly expenses.
  • The Institute reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship/financial aid already awarded on the grounds: (i) providing false information in the scholarship application, (ii) violation of institute’s disciplinary norms, and (iii) misconduct.
