Ques

What is the procedure of the wait-list movement for IIFT Kolkata selected students to get into IIFT Delhi?

● Top Answer By Kishan Menon on 15 Jun 22

Ans
If you are waitlisted for IIFT Delhi, you will need to pay a certain fee to reserve your seat. You will move up the list, as the students ranked higher than you opt-out.  So, to simplify, there are students who got selected for IIFT Delhi, students who are selected for IIFT Kolkata, and students who are waitlisted. As a student who got admission to IIFT Delhi opts out, the first student is the list of students admitted to IIFT Kolkata moves to the Delhi list, and consequently the first students on the waiting list get into the IIFT Kolkata list.  The waitlist starts moving after reputed B-School such as IIM ABCL, XLRI, FMS, JBIMS announces their results.

Which is better XLRI or IIFT?

● Top Answer By Sagardeep on 09 Jan 23

Ans
XLRI and IIFT are both excellent. What matters is which one you are able to enter. Simply focus on each exam and consider it important, and you will be admitted. When you have a choice, you can make a decision. In terms of the alumni network, corporate connect, international collaboration, placement, PPOs, and offers, both Business Schools rank higher than many IIMs.  Although you can consider XLRI slightly better than IIFT because of the following factors:   Factors XLRI IIFT Established 1963 1949 BT Ranking 9 3 NIRF Ranking 2022 24 8 Specialization MBA IB PGDM, PGDM HRM Exam Accepted IIFT Test XAT/GMAT Test Cutoff IIFT Score: 48.5 XAT: 96 Full-Time Faculty 41 82 Average Salary 2022 25 LPA 32 LPA You must take your time, look at each and every possible aspect of both colleges and decide what suits best for your future prospects. You should not blindly follow people’s opinions, rather do what you think is good for you.

Ques

Which is better, IIFT Delhi, IIFT Kolkata, or IIFT Kakinada?

● Top Answer By Ishani Sinha on 04 Aug 22

Ans
Among all the campuses, IIFT Delhi is the best option. The Delhi campus is the oldest and offers better facilities. In terms of academics and placements, there is no such difference between different IIFT campuses. Students from all three campuses get equal opportunities. But, due to the location advantage of the Delhi campus, it's easier to get placements, internships, and projects. During IIFT Delhi placements 2022, the median CTC offered was INR 24 LPA. Major MNCs like Accenture, Deloitte, Raymond, TCS, etc. visit the IIFT placements.

Ques

Which is best between IIFT Delhi or IIM Shillong, or DMS, IIT Delhi in terms of brand value?

● Top Answer By Jayant Thakur on 09 Jan 23

Ans
DMS and IIM Shillong are nowhere near the level of IIFT, Delhi. A more accurate comparison for IIFT would be with MDI, SP Jain, or IMT. IIM Shillong will be more valuable only to those who are oblivious to the IIM label. The college's remote location and unusual selection criteria are significant impediments to its growth. DMS, on the other hand, has an advantage due to the fees, but it is still not in the same league. A more level playing field would be with SJMSOM and IIT Bombay. So, if you want the IIM tag, go with IIM Shillong, but keep in mind that with new IIMs opening every year, that tag is becoming diluted, and go with DMS only if fees are a major criterion. Just in terms of brand value, IIFT is far superior to either of them, with its 50-year heritage, strong alumni, central location, and strong differentiation.

Ques

Can someone with a low UG score and no work experience get into IIFT Delhi/Kolkata?

● Top Answer By Sidhharth Jain on 09 Jan 23

Ans
If you have a percentage in the 50s or 60s in UG and no work experience, you must score above the 98%ile with an excellent interview. You will receive the IIFT. The percentage of these people is very low, but it is possible if you achieve a high percentile. If you perform well in the entrance exam (score 3-4 marks above the cut-off) and the admission process (GD-PI and WAT), a UG score (at least above 65) should not be a problem. All you have to do is perform well in the GDPI Process and give them a reason to choose you.
