- The 2023 paper was difficult compared to 2022.
- VARC section had 4 RCs with a total of 16 questions. The passages were not difficult but lengthy. 19 questions of easy to moderate difficulty level were asked from topics of Verbal Ability.

IIFT 2023 Selection Procedure
IIFT Selection Procedure is for the candidates that clear the cut-off. The Selection Process for IIFT consists of essay writing, group discussion and interview.
- IIFT Essay Writing -
- Candidates have to write an essay based on some topic of General or business affairs.
- This round aims to test candidates’ writing skills and conceptual knowledge about the topics.
- The average duration of this round is 20 minutes and the length of a well-defined essay is usually 300 words.
- IIFT GD (Group Discussion) -
- Qualified candidates from the previous rounds are divided into groups of 10-12 participants.
- Candidates are given a topic related to current or business affairs.
- The duration of the GD usually varies.
- Candidates’ ability to take initiative, ability to effectively communicate their ideas are generally some qualities that the panelists look out for in this round.
- IIFT PI (Personal Interview) -
- The Personal Interview round is one on one round where the panelists adjudge the candidates on the basis of their persona and ability to stay focused under pressure.

IIFT 2023 Marking Scheme
IIFT is an objective-type paper conducted in online mode for 120 minutes. The marking scheme for IIFT 2023 is different for each section. However, there is a constant negative marking of 33% for each wrong answer. The marking scheme is fairly different compared to other exams. While the General Awareness section carries 1.5 marks per question, VARC, LRDI, & QA carry 3 marks per question. Also, the number of questions may vary each year-110 questions in 2022 & 2021, 114 Questions in 2019, and 123 Questions in 2018.

Ques. What are the eligibility conditions to qualify as an International applicant?
Ans. International candidates applying for admissions to IIFT must have been residents outside India for a period of a minimum of 18 months and be outside India during the IIFT examination process. The Indian nationals who are living, working, studying abroad should produce with the application a certificate from the High Commissions/ Indian Embassy/ Consulate of the country of where the candidate is currently based. The certificate must state that the candidate has been resident in that country continuously for a period of not less than 18 months.

Ques. Is the change in the center of the examination permitted?
Ans. Candidates can apply for a change in center online only. They must pay the fees of INR 1000 for the same. No requests will be considered offline.
