Band 7 IELTS Essay

The golden rule of education is a myth as considered by many. Different teachers have different styles and patterns. The most important is how you teach a child as their mind is in a developing phase. Some people say that things that are taught at school are a waste of time. On the other hand, some believe that studies at school are important and useful sometimes. In this essay, we will discuss both views.

I believe that if a person takes a closer look, both the views provided in the statement are justified and credible. We know that most of the children’s teaching at school is focused on rote-learning. This usually makes the young swallow instruction and information provided without understanding. This methodical learning makes the student study only for passing the test. They do not get the opportunity to learn and implement those in future. Hence, people who believe that whatever children are taught at school is a waste of time is correct in their thought. Students nowadays can get information over the internet. They have access to the sea of information and knowledge in front of them.

Though this conventional method is not useful, they have their own benefits and the bright side. School teaches a child to socialize, make friends for life. They develop a competitive nature which makes them study hard and excel in the exam. In the race to pass the exam, they also learn their syllabus which helps them further in life.

I believe that schooling is important since it helps a child grow. There might be drawbacks in the method but a degree helps the child proceed further in life. Children learn to make relationships, adjust themselves which are important lessons learnt in school. Hence, schooling and education in school is very important as per my opinion.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Some people claim that things that children are taught at school are a waste of time. Others argue that everything studied at school is useful at some time. I believe that most of the things taught in school are a waste of time. In this essay, I will justify my opinion with real life experiences and examples.

We are taught subjects like history, arts, physics, chemistry, math, social science, biology etc. Until class 10, we need to learn all these subjects. Then the students get a chance to select the subjects they want to pursue their career with. I believe that studying all subjects till class 10 and giving importance to all of them is not necessary. School is the foundation of a student’s learning and education. They need to learn all subjects. However, those subjects will not help them in their future endeavors. If a student is applying for an engineering job, he/ she will not be asked about history or bengali literature. So studying those did not impact their life in any way. Similarly, if a candidate is applying for a teacher’s job in literature, he/ she will not be questioned about the physics or mechanics of a machine. I believe that a student can choose and focus on the subjects he/ she likes. That will help him in future. Obviously, the student needs to pass on all subjects and get a degree. However, if they focus on the subjects they want to hold onto and go ahead in life, it will be beneficial.

One more important aspect is sports and physical activity. Schools give less importance to these subjects. Most of the parents do not focus on these. There are many students who have a passion for sports. Concentrating only on studies will hamper their focus on sports.

I believe that a child should be given the opportunity to select their career and not force upon them. The parents should also guide their children towards the correct goal. Only then the education system will be better.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

School education has been an important topic of discussion. Some people believe that whatever is taught in school is just a waste of time. Others believe that they are useful at some point in life. I believe that yes, school education is important at some stages of life. I will provide justification to back my statement in this essay.

School is the foundation and builds the base for a student’s future. It is for the school that we end up in good jobs. The education system allows us to read almost all subjects which might not help us in our jobs but with life. Students might feel that all these subjects were not required but as they grow up with more life experience, one day they will find the connection of those pieces of information. Education in school teaches us of our past, present and future. Subjects like history show us where we came from. It teaches us of our past. Without these, we would be unaware of these facts. Science and literature also educates us about the present and the future. We get to learn reading and writing properly in school. We learn how to be competitive and prepare for exams. This helps us with our life ahead. I believe that proper education and guidance always comes from school. It's an institution where the lives of many great known people were shaped.

In conclusion, I believe that education in school tends to bring out the best in a person. Students can understand their true potential and focus on their goals. Hence, school education is an important part of everyone’s life.
