IELTS exam fees in India for both paper and computer-delivered tests are Rs. 14,700. IELTS exam fees differ in India based on the type of test candidates are taking. IELTS exam fee for UK visas and immigration is Rs. 15,100-15, 750. IELTS test fee for Life Skills (A1 and B1) is Rs. 13, 940. IELTS fees can be paid online, in demand-draft, or through bank deposit. There is a separate IELTS fee for cancellation or rescheduling.

Candidates need to pay the IELTS fees during registration. Before payment of IELTS exam fee, candidates need to check IELTS dates. After selecting the IELTS exam date 2023 from the available options, it will be forwarded to the payment section. Candidates need to select either IELTS computer-delivered or paper-based tests from the options. The conducting bodies of IELTS have launched the IELTS indicator for candidates during the pandemic to take IELTS from home. Note: The IELTS course fee for British Council includes the cost of sending 5 IELTS TRF sent to selected universities.
There are three ways of paying IELTS fees: Online payment, Demand Draft, and Bank Deposit. Candidates need to note that payment by cash or card is not accepted at any of the British Council offices. Below are the detailed methods of IELTS fee payment:
Candidates can pay their IELTS fees through net banking, e-wallets, or cards like Visa, Visa Electron, or Mastercard.
For paying IELTS test fees of IDP, candidates can deposit the cash in either ICICI or Allahabad bank branches. Along with the cash, they need to submit a customized deposit slip that can either be obtained from IDP’s official website or from any IDP IELTS bank branch/referral partner. Candidates need to attach the authentic customer copy with that of the IELTS application form. To pay the IELTS exam fee of the British Council, candidates need to follow a similar method and deposit the cash in the ICICI bank branch.
Candidates need to draw the demand draft in favor of "IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, Payable at New Delhi". In the case of the British Council, they need to pay in favor of ‘British Council, payable at Delhi.’
Candidates may be required to cancel the IELTS appointment due to unavoidable circumstances. In that case, candidates will be receiving a refund after a deduction of 25% administration fee of the IETS fees. The computer-delivered IELTS needs to be canceled three weeks prior to the IELTS exam date. The paper-based IELTS test needs to be canceled five weeks prior to the IELTS exam date. Refund of IELTS exam fee will be received in two ways:
Candidates opting for cancellation of the exam within the five-week period in IDP can receive a refund if there are any of the following reasons:
Candidates in order to modify their test dates must request a test date transfer five weeks prior to the scheduled test date. In addition, they are liable to pay the cancellation fees that is 25% administrative fees. Candidates can opt for a replacement test dates within three months from the cancellation date. A charge of Rs. 3,300 which is an inclusive of adminisratrive charges and taxes is to be paid by candidates in order change their exam dates.
Candidates can send their IELTS results for a recheck if they wish. Candidates need to submit ‘Enquiry on Results Form’ or EOR form for rechecking purposes. IELTS rechecking fees is Rs. 8, 475. Candidates can select one or more parts of their test to be rechecked.
Candidates can request for additional IELTS TRF to be sent to their selected universities. The additional IELTS TRFs can be delivered in either one of the three ways:
