About Testing IBSAT Preparation
IBSAT 2022 Preparation
IBSAT 2022 Preparation requires a clear understanding of the test structure, marking scheme, questions asked in the previous year's papers, and syllabus. The revision would be sufficient for candidates who appeared for CAT 2022 exam conducted on Nov 28 or for those preparing for NMAT/ XAT/ SNAP as the exam pattern and syllabus is almost identical and IBSAT is comparatively easier than CAT or XAT.
For candidates preparing solely for IBSAT 2022, the below-mentioned tips would be highly beneficial to score a decent score:
- Solve at least 2 sample papers every day and record your progress. Also, make note of your mistakes and revise those topics and attempt the questions again.
- Refer to IBSAT previous year papers to get an idea of the difficulty level that can be expected in IBSAT 2022 exam.
- Focus on learning short tricks and formulas for acing IBSAT Quant section. A thorough revision of basic concepts and formulas like squares and square roots, cubes and cube roots, divisibility rules, important ratio-percentage conversion ratios, quadratic equations, remainder theorem, unitary method, permutations, combinations, and probability.
- For IBSAT Verbal Ability, focus on solving maximum questions from practice books like How to Prepare for VA by Arun Sharma. For increasing vocabulary, just read at least 1-2 articles every day and also refer to a book titled ‘Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis.
- To ensure that it takes minimal time to solve RC passages, it is best to solve as many RC passages as possible.
- Firstly, start with a 350-400 word RC passage and record the time taken to read it.
- Then move on to a 450-500 word passage and record the time. Similarly, continue this process for 2 more rounds.
- You will notice that your reading time has been reduced by around 10-15%. This percentage will increase with an increase in the number of words you read every day.
- This can be observed in typing- the more you type on a daily basis, your words per minute increase.
- IBSAT Data Interpretation & Sufficiency section can be a major hurdle when it comes to time management. The questions mainly consist of data sets in the form of charts, graphs, and tables followed by 2-3 questions. To attempt this section in the least amount of time with 95+% accuracy, the following should definitely be kept in mind:
- Solve at least 3-4 sets of questions from each type of Data including Bar graphs, pie charts, mixed graphs, tables, cases, and line & trend graphs.
- Applying basic logic is the key to time management for solving Data Sufficiency problems. Candidates must understand that the purpose of Sufficiency questions is not to find the correct answer but to only find the statements that can provide you so. So, the time-consuming mistake of finding the answers should be avoided while attempting such questions.
- One of the most important concepts that should be on your tips is ‘Ratio-Percentage Conversion’- 1/4= 25%, 1/5= 20%, etc. This will help you in solving questions in half the time than what you would spend otherwise.
