Between 1979 and 1999, the number of UK residents traveling abroad and overseas residents visiting the UK is depicted in the line graph. The number of UK residents traveling to five of the most popular countries in 1999 is depicted in the bar chart. Millions of people are the unit of measurement. The five countries stated in the chart are Turkey, Greece, USA, Spain and France.

Over the given time period, there was a general increase in the number of visits to and from the UK. There are more visits from UK residents to countries abroad than from visits to the UK from abroad. In addition, France was the nation that UK residents visited most frequently in 1999.

In 1979, there were just under 15 million UK residents traveling abroad. By 1999, that number had significantly increased to over 50 million. In the first year, around 10 million foreign residents went to the UK, but that number steadily increased to just under 30 million by the end of the year.

Over 10 million UK residents visited France in 1999, followed by approximately 9 million to Spain. About 4 million and 3 million people visited Greece and the United States, respectively. Turkey was the least visited country, with only about 2 million Brits traveling there.

Overall, according to the bar chart, more people from the UK travel abroad than from the UK, and France was the most popular tourist destination for UK residents.

To begin, the year-over-year increase in graph line visits to the UK and from the UK is followed by citizens of the UK who exceed the graph. Both graphs begin with a ratio that is almost identical—around 10 million visitors in 1979—but the number of visitors from outside the UK has significantly increased to over 50 million. However, the number of visitors to the UK increased gradually to just under 30 million at the conclusion.

Referring to the bar chart, France was the most popular tourist destination for British citizens in 1999, with approximately 10 million visitors, followed by Spain. In addition, the United States, Greece, and Turkey had much fewer people, with less than 5 million each. Turkey, on the other hand, was the least popular destination for UK residents.

To begin, approximately 10 million foreigners visited the UK in 1979, and another 2 or 3 million UK residents left the country. Both of these numbers increased slowly until almost 1986, at which point the number of UK residents traveling abroad dramatically increased. In 1999, the number of foreign visitors to the UK exceeded 25 million, and more than 50 million UK residents made outside visits.

To continue, in 1999, the countries with the most residents in the UK were France (with more than 10 million) and Spain (with almost 10 million). Greece received approximately 4 million and 3 million tourists, respectively. Turkey, with only 2 million UK visitors, was the least popular of these five nations.

In comparison, the number of trips to and from the UK started at the same level, but the first trip was roughly twice as many as the second.
