The bar graph displays the total amount of time in billions of minutes that was spent in the UK between 1995 and 2002 on three distinct types of phone conversations.

Over the whole period, local calls were the most common, followed by national and international calls and mobile calls in that order. Nevertheless, the number of minutes spent on international and domestic calls, as well as mobiles, grew over the time, with mobile minutes growing substantially, reducing the differences between the three categories by 2002.

Minutes spent on local calls varied during the period, peaking at almost 90 billion in 1999 and then slowly dropping to just over 70 billion minutes in 2002.
