Band 6 IELTS Answer

The graph mentioned above portrays the average number of hours that people work in three different countries. The data highlights the statistics for nations namely; Netherlands, UK, and Greece for a span of one year.

The contrasting aspect in the above-mentioned graph is the average number of work hours by male and female were comparatively equal. The statistics were similar for both types of work and further full-time employees have worked twice in comparison to part time employees.

Looking into the figures for full-time employment, it was revealed that men typically work around 40 hours per week, while women are working around 35 hours. Male workers were the only ones who were able to go over 40 hours per week in the UK.

Moving on to part-time employment, this chart makes the disparity in hours worked between men and women more clear. Men in the Netherlands worked an average of 10 hours a week, and women worked an average of 15 hours. In the UK, both sexes worked roughly 17 hours per week, but in Greece, the figures were slightly higher, with male employees clocking in at about 20 hours and female employees reaching above 20.

However, make workers in the UK on the other hand were the only group that exceeded the 40 hours per week limit. The figures for Netherlands were reported to be the lowest for both the genders.
