Topic: The age of information technology has taken a lot of people by surprise. While it has become a way of life for some, others know very little about it and may be unlikely to learn. Eventually we will have a polarised society and this will lead to serious social problems. To what extent do you agree with this statement

Band 6 IELTS Essay

It is undeniable that technology has dominated our lives in the modern day. Some believe it has become a part of life, while others believe they know nothing about it and may not be motivated to learn. As a result, it creates digital divides in society. Although I agree that it would cause some serious social issues, I also have certain concerns, which will be covered in the following sentences. To start, all aspects of life are changing significantly in the age of technology and globalisation.

Information technology utilisation is not an exception, either. There are several reasons to support the idea that society will become more divided in the years to come. In the first place, some members of the current population are still unable to access the internet. It makes their ability to survive in the age of globalisation difficult. For instance, they lack the skills necessary to use the internet for regular tasks like searching for places and paying payments. They continue to prefer standing in lines as a result, which requires a lot of time and effort. Additionally, because they are unaware of the various advertising strategies being used on social media sites, it would have a significant impact on the firm. Therefore, they would be unable to advertise their products in other regions of the nation. Consequently, it would ultimately have an impact on their income. To give an example, a poll done in 2018 revealed that 7 out of 10 consumers prefer to purchase online. Every coin has a reverse side, which is a true statement. The number of solutions to this issue is likewise lacking, in a similar vein. Governments and organisations take this into consideration and make specific accommodations for them as well. For those who couldn't make reservations for vaccinations online, the government set up certain kiosks for offline registrations during the pandemic. To sum up, organisations have done a lot for those who do not understand how to use technology. Yet the majority of the population is utilising it to great effect.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Information technologies have advanced quickly in recent years to improve people's communication ease. Due to people spending less time with one another, these advancements have a negative impact on interpersonal relationships. The problem can be solved in a variety of ways, and this essay will look at both the many potential solutions and plausible explanations.

People's reduced social interaction can be attributed to a number of factors. The first and most important one is a lack of social abilities. People prefer to chat online rather than face-to-face communication. Because social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Line are now easier to access than they were in the past. Due to this, people become less social and behave inappropriately in public settings. This makes them want to spend all their time alone on their computer or mobile device. Despite the aforementioned issues, I think that there are some practical answers to the problem of poor human interactions. Family is the most important thing, and education plays a big part in social skills development. Outdoor activities should be provided for children by their parents. Such as physical activity, cycling, and playing with other kids at a playground. As opposed to allowing children to use computers and mobile devices inside a home. This encourages the kids to interact with their neighbours more and form positive relationships with others. Governments are yet another point. Campaigns that encourage group activity should be developed. People can not only develop their communication skills through volunteer work. But they also have the chance to meet new people, so these activities make good examples. In conclusion, it is clear that the development of information technology has a detrimental effect on interpersonal interactions. But there are several potential fixes. Personally, I think this issue may be resolved swiftly and successfully if both the public and the government are aware that it exists.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

The way people live, communicate, and work has significantly changed because of information technology. The use of computers by large, established businesses is one of the most significant changes. But given the way things are now, there are still a lot of individuals who don't know how many things a computer can accomplish. Major social problems are predicted to arise because of how isolated these individuals are from the rest of the population.

Especially those who are knowledgeable about the myriad uses of machines. The effects on education and employment are the two key factors that will be examined in relation to these social issues. First, there would be serious issues with schooling due to technological disparities throughout the population. as an example. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint software knowledge is typically required in educational institutions in order to support students' learning. Hence, pupils who have not had the opportunity to learn how to utilise a computer or other technical devices would be less capable of academic achievements. Thus, it is feasible to imagine a corporation that has become divided due to human resource imbalances caused by machinery. Additionally, computers are a common tool in the majority of businesses. People who haven't got the chance to receive IT training are put under social pressure because of this. One such industry with a strong software foundation is architecture. Career prospects like these are unattainable for someone without access to even the most basic contemporary equipment. These figures unequivocally show that people risk becoming increasingly unemployed in the current world if they don't adapt and improve their IT skills. Thus, it is possible that gaps in public knowledge of technology will cause polarisation. In summary, it has been established that automation of information is dividing society and will eventually lead to international conflicts. These potential issues will materialise very rapidly if government entities do not make an effort to spearhead educational initiatives encouraging IT skills.
