Topic: In the past, sporting champions used to be motivated primarily by the desire to win a match or to break world records. These days they are more likely to be motivated by prize money and the opportunity to be famous. What message does this send to young people and how does this attitude to sport affect the sports themselves?

Band 8 IELTS Essay

In the past, sports champions often attained their objectives purely for record-keeping or to be the first. The top positions are now driven by awards and honoraria. I'll discuss how the aforementioned things impact younger generations in this essay.

First off, as motivation among athletes has altered, it has certain detrimental consequences on young people. The majority of football, basketball, or other team players are thought to be worth millions of dollars, which makes them feel like stars. They lead opulent lives as a result, and the majority of them lose sight of humanity and kindness. Most of them make fun of Youngers, who undoubtedly cannot be a compassionate and intelligent person at all.

In addition, athletes lose their capacity for teamwork. The team eventually loses the game despite each player's best efforts to demonstrate their individual play. Younger generations are also impacted by this. Instead of having one leader, they ought to be able to operate in a team and succeed together.

Many of them have been married to well-known actors or supermodels, and the illness has caused them to live opulent or glamorous lives. It has given young people the impression that the world of professional sports is one of

parties, money, and hedonistic ways of living. Athletes' goal in the past was to excel in their sport and set an example for the younger generation via their dedication to hard effort.

Of course, I'm aware that there are a great deal of issues with money and finances, and that this affects everyone—including athletes. Unlike in the past, when athletes sought to accomplish their goals just for the sake of their reputation. They now frequently do so in order to win prizes and meet their financial obligations. However, in my opinion, no matter who we are—sportsmen, accountants, pop stars—we must all be human and shouldn't forget human qualities.

Band 8.5 IELTS Essay

In earlier times, an athlete's objective was to win the race or break a world record. Since many players are now motivated by the reward and popularity, it has altered. The impact of the changes on the younger generation and how that has impacted the sports sector will be covered in the subsequent article.

First off, the modern athletes' altered drive has certain detrimental repercussions on young people. It is a truth that many football and basketball stars today earn huge salaries and enjoy high levels of popularity.

Everyone works for a living or aspires to fame. Therefore, the best way to have both is to play video games. Sports are played both domestically and in other nations. Since they are highly compensated for this, people play them. For instance, cricket players make between one and two million dollars for a single match, regardless of whether they win or lose. They only get paid for taking part and playing. Therefore, this encourages young people to participate only if they are well paid.

Nowadays' well compensated professional athletes have altered the sports industry's paradigm. Because they require the funding to cover these athletes, professional leagues are becoming more commercialized. Tickets are outrageously expensive, and there are a lot of commercial breaks when watching a live game on television. Then, as each athlete strives to become the star performer, many games exhibit more individual attractiveness than effective teamwork. In summary, it is accurate to say that sports have developed into a lucrative industry. Sports leagues have developed into a fantastic opportunity for some parties, and many athletes are handsomely paid. Despite all the success, sports have lost their fundamental components of discipline, collaboration, and sport. Athletes are evolving toward a more autonomous lifestyle, which may set a harmful example for the next generation. Then, many sports organizations have suffered as a result of sports industrialization. Thus, it is the responsibility of the government to establish certain precise rules regarding the sporting industry.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

There is a claim that participating in sport today has different goals than it had in the past. When the goal was to represent their countries with dignity in international tournaments and become famous and wealthy. Additionally, it has a significant influence on children who aspire to fame and wealth. I wholeheartedly concur with this viewpoint, and I'll explain why in the sentences that follow.

A new class of wealthy individuals emerged among athletes in their town during the past few decades, in particular football players.

As a result of the fact that athletes receive substantial compensation for joining a team and increased prizes for winning a title. They appear to play or succeed solely for financial gain, and they are only getting richer. The goal of competing in and winning at international tournaments in the past was to represent one's nation and showcase one's skills to the world.

Today's youth, however, look up to athletes as role models. This means that people desire to do sports in order to be a part of a team. And gain fame and wealth when they witness the vehicles, homes, and happiness of players. They desire to compete in international events and set records for the honor and recognition they will receive. Young boys are familiar with most of the footballers and their automobiles, according to a recent interview. 80 percent of them desired to play football when they grew up. They responded, "We can get new luxury cars," when asked why. By utilizing money to motivate athletes, competition will become about more than just competing against other players. It will become about earning money and building a name. This notion could result in putting too much effort into winning the game, which could have negative effects on the outcomes of the athletic competition.

In conclusion, the goal of participating in sports and winning championships should remain the same. As it did in the past because champions were chosen to represent their nations and demonstrate their skills to the world. Young kids today want to be athletes because it will make them rich and famous.
