Band 8 IELTS Essay

Due to the obvious various advantages they provide, shopping malls have become more popular than local markets, particularly in major cities. Despite this, consumers continue to favor local markets because of the advantages they offer. The advantages of each type of marketplace will be covered in this essay.

I favor shopping malls over small markets. On the one hand, contemporary shopping centers offer a much better environment and a wide selection of stores all in one location. The stores are well-organized. These stores provide a better shopping experience and help clients save time by letting them find all of the things they require under one roof. Additionally, the atmosphere in shopping centers is far superior to that at small markets. These shops accept digital payment methods such as credit and debit cards, which is convenient for cardholders. Local marketplaces, on the other hand, also give consumers access to a wide range of benefits and goods. The freshness of the fruits, vegetables, and fish could be a huge benefit of buying from local markets. Another reason why many people believe local markets are superior locations to purchase is the low pricing. Local small business vendors frequently assist the neighborhood economy by selling their wares in such a conventional market.

These benefits so serve as an example of the benefits and significance of such conventional markets. To sum up, both shopping malls and local marketplaces offer advantages. The choice frequently depends on the kind of goods we purchase and the level of convenience we desire. Because I think shopping centers give me a better shopping experience, I do the majority of my shopping there.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

People have diverse preferences when it comes to shopping locations and shopping experiences. While many people like to shop at malls or plazas, some prefer to buy their goods from local markets. The advantages of both settings are described in the paragraphs that follow.

However, I prefer a traditional market since I like to haggle over prices and purchase fresh goods there. Some people choose to buy things from a major shopping mall for a variety of reasons.

First of all, shopping at a mall is safer than going to a market. Security personnel keep an eye out for theft and robbery as surveillance systems are installed at malls and plazas. Second, shopping in a mega-complex is more comfortable and convenient because most malls have air conditioners that regulate the temperature. Customers are drawn in by amenities such as a children's play area, credit card payment, a cineplex, a food court, and so on. However, for a variety of reasons, some people continue to favor local marketplaces. It is true that goods are generally less expensive in traditional markets. Additionally, a lot of distinctive and traditional goods are offered in regional markets rather than in contemporary shopping centers. Many traditional and handmade goods are only available in local marketplaces, and each one is distinctive because it is a made-to-order item. The freshness of the fish, fruits, and vegetables in a local market is, perhaps, the greatest benefit over a major shopping mall.

To generalize, it is evident that shopping in modern retail malls and traditional marketplaces has advantages. Personally, I like to buy products from a local market because I can do so for less money and always have access to fresh produce.
