Band 8 IELTS Essay

Technology is advancing faster than light in this modern era. Nowadays, the majority of people choose the internet over the movie theatre because of technological improvements. Some claim that movie going will decline in popularity in the near future and that less people will go to see movies in theatres. I also concur with the stated opinion, and I'll cite examples to back it up in the sentences that follow. First of all, in today's hectic world, time is the most valuable gem. Everyone is working long hours to make good money in order to maintain a high level of living. As a result, individuals choose to watch movies or television shows at home instead of going to the movies at the mall. It is because it saves them time and allows them to spend more time with their family. Only 25% of respondents in a recent comparison poll by "THE TIMES". They were asked whether they preferred watching movies in theatres or online preferred going to the movies.

On the other hand, the remaining 75% used online services like Netflix and Amazon Prime for the same. In comparison to one's own home, public spaces like movie theatres are not the safest. Therefore, the only choice people currently have in this COVID-19 scenario to feel the safest is to remain at home and enjoy themselves there. Therefore, despite the malls and theatres being closed during a pandemic, people can still watch movies at home with a few mouse clicks on their screens. In fact, it has become common practise for people to view any movie in their office, home, or with friends without leaving the premises. Kids are now selecting the internet over movies since it is a more cosy and practical alternative for them.

To recapitulate, while going to the movies is a great way to spend time with family or friends, people now have more options thanks to technological advancements. As a result, some believe that the popularity of movies is about to end.

Since there are so many other activities and platforms that can take the place of the cinema as a convenient place to relieve tension. Some people believe that movie theatres will gradually lose their patrons, and it is anticipated that only a minority will continue to come. Modern technology and other enjoyable pastimes, in my opinion, would replace the appeal of movie theatres.

In overall, the last ten years have seen globalisation force the movie theatre to lose some of its appeal as the top weekend destination. In reality, a plethora of ethnically diverse cafes and restaurants have sprouted up in the city centre, giving society today a wide range of options. The options for how to spend their free time with friends and family. This is what I typically do with my spouse and kids to spend time as a family at the end of the week, and it exposes us to new cuisines like Italian food.

Likewise, modern technology, which has been providing many benefits to our daily lives, will eventually completely replace the movie theatre. In fact, it is inevitable that a society will look for the easiest and least expensive means to complete a task. In other words, rather than going to the movies, we prefer to watch movies online on several platforms. For instance, millennials prefer to stay in throughout their brief holiday and watch Netflix drama series and movies. As a result, it is inevitable that this trend will develop further and eventually replace the primary function of a movie theatre.

To recap, in my opinion, fewer people visit the theatre these days, and it will likely lose appeal in the future given that globalisation. It has significantly changed how people enjoy their habit and advanced technology has made it possible for people to watch a variety of films. It made people watch films more conveniently and affordably. There won't be any theatres in the foreseeable future if this situation persists.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Technology use is steadily increasing in the age of globalisation. Some people think that there is technology that allows people to view movies at their accommodations. So, they thinks that going to the theatres would no longer be necessary. Before coming to a conclusion, I'll share my thoughts on this view, with which I partially agree.

The internet is the main factor in favour of this opinion. There is no denying that the internet enables people to access a wide range of information or entertainment, including movies. In this instance, the movie-related app Netflix serves as the ideal illustration. Netflix allows people to live comfortable lives because they can watch movies whenever and wherever they choose. When compared to movie tickets, it appears to be affordable even though it requires membership application and other fees.

The movie theatre could not, nonetheless, completely vanish from our culture for a variety of reasons. One of the key elements that influence people's decision to visit the theatre is the environment. Since it still feels special to view a new film with a theatre full of others who have the same interests. Additionally, certain movies can only be seen in theatres because they are not available online.

Finally, even though we have amazing technology that enables us to watch movies at home, I firmly feel that it cannot replicate the theatre experience.
