Band 8 IELTS Essay

Technological advancements are exploding in today's world, making our daily lives easier than ever before. The computer and mobile phone are two of the most innovative and successful machines in the history of technology. It allows humans to communicate with each other, enjoy games and videos, run their business and what not. I agree that letter writing, once very useful, has been replaced by emails with more advantages.

When these technological devices emerged, humans became curious. They wanted to learn how to use them. For instance, people have begun to use calculators on smartphones and computers instead of using an actual calculator. This has in turn reduced its sales and usage in daily life. If the product is more comfortable and simple to use, people begin to forget how to use the old one and switch to the new one. In a similar way, the practice of writing letters has fallen out of favor as a result of the use of computers to write letters and mobile phones to send important messages. It is easier for people to type on a keyboard and requires less time than writing. It is convenient and easy to use.

Secondly, writing a letter is more expensive than using an electronic device to send a message or mail. For instance, the post office would send each letter, and depending on where it lands, different fees would apply to each one. It is also time consuming to go to the post office and send the letter. The letter also takes days to reach its destination. However, in the case of electronic devices, the purchase price is only required once. After that, any number of written messages can be sent to anyone in the world for free via the internet or telecommunications. In addition, the time it takes to send the script information via computer or mobile phone is shorter than the time it takes to send information via letter.

In conclusion, ancient people used to send and receive information by writing letters. With technological advancements like the computer and mobile phone, people are mostly using these to communicate. Hence, letter writing is almost lost in the modern world.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

In this century, technology has taken center stage and replaced numerous traditional products. The skill of writing letters is on the verge of disappearing in this digitized world where people rely on faster, more reliable, and efficient methods of communication. As a result, the importance of traditional methods like letters has diminished.

Letters were the first way for people to express their formal and informal thoughts when they learned different languages. However, since the telephone, electronic mail, and the telegraph are modern and innovative means of communication, the importance of writing letters has decreased. In contrast to letters, which can take days or months to receive, these new methods are much faster and can be delivered within seconds. While letters are not secure, using computers and mobiles to send emails and messages can be secured and saved as proof with both the sender and the recipient. As a result, they have gained an advantage. They also save paper. In the hustle and bustle of modern life, people neither bother to write a letter to express their feelings to loved ones nor want to conduct formal business via letter.

However, emotions are crucial to a healthy relationship and can be beautifully expressed through letters from loved ones. On the professional front, writing letters helps one use the right words because many modern forms use short forms. It also helps one write formally proficiently. Letters, in contrast to telephones and electronic mail, cannot be tapped or hacked. In addition, the level of confidentiality remains high. Furthermore, given that people are attempting to avoid writing with the advent of speech-to-text technologies, writing letters can assist them not only in clearly conveying their messages but also in demonstrating their creativity in designing alphabets.

Despite the rise of digital communication in today's world, letter writing will never lose its significance. This is because it helps people measure their creativity and convey their most profound feelings to others.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

The majority of people in today's world prefer to communicate with one another through electronic means like computers and mobile phones. The letter writing trend is on the verge of becoming extinct due to the numerous advantages that digital devices offer over. I completely concur with the notion that technology has made communication simpler causing the trend of letter writing almost extinct.

In an advanced technological age, we can easily access a wealth of information via the internet, use mobile phones and instant messages to communicate with one another, and with friends and family. The ability to instantly connect with friends, family, and coworkers is just one example of how technology has altered how people communicate with one another. Additionally, as modern devices become more user-friendly, an increasing number of people are utilizing these advanced communication systems, lowering the cost of communication.

People prefer using computers and mobile phones to the traditional method of writing letters for a variety of compelling reasons. The user-friendly and quick method of delivering your messages is one of the main reasons. For instance, if I want to wish my friend in the USA a happy birthday, all I have to do is send him a message via email or phone, and he will receive it right away. Second, communicating electronically is significantly less expensive than writing letters by hand. For instance, using a courier service to deliver letters to other postal regions costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time. In addition, it is an eco-friendly method of communication that avoids the use of paper and the cutting down of trees.

In conclusion, people prefer to use electronic devices rather than traditional letter writing due to advantages such as cost effectiveness, ease of use, and instant communication.
