Band 8.5 IELTS Letter

Respected Sir,

I wanted to inform you that an inaccurate article about Calcutta University appeared in the most recent issue of your travel publication. The author claimed that Calcutta University was the oldest university in West bengal. However, this information is not totally correct. It was established on 24 January 1857 and is the oldest multidisciplinary and European-style institution in Asia. The oldest university in West Bengal is SSU or Seacom Skills University situated in Santiniketan.

Your magazine is well-known all over the world and has a lot of influence over individuals and travel businesses alike. I believe that many students read this magazine and get inspired from the information provided. Such a huge mistake from such a reputed organization is not acceptable at all. I was truly surprised that the facts had not been checked prior to publication, as accuracy and veracity of information are essential. Many people depend on the information you provide and most common people are unaware of this information. Since I am a professor at a reputed college, I was aware of this and hence, could identify the fault.

I believe that publishing a correction and an apology in the magazine the following month is the least the publication can do. Additionally, I urge you to check all factual information thoroughly prior to publication.

Regards,
Rajiv Malhotra

Band 8 IELTS Letter

Respected Sir,

I regularly read your magazine, and I'd like to point out a recent article in the December 2022 issue. This article claimed that continental cuisine is unavailable in Mumbai. I beg to differ. I worry that the information presented here is incorrect.

Mumbai is one of India's most advanced cities, and its cuisine includes continental fare as well. Al Fresco is one the top restaurants in Mumbai who specializes in Continental cuisine. Many people from Mumbai and all over the world come here to enjoy continental food. There are other restaurants also serving classic continental cuisine.

Your magazine is regarded as a highly trustworthy resource for information. When I travel to new places, like many others, I rely solely on the information in your magazine. There are people like me who read the magazine for information before traveling. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to ensure that the information presented in your articles has been handled with the utmost care.

If I may suggest some corrective measures, that would be great. Please inform your readers of this error via email or text message so that they can take preventative measures. In addition, the apologies and updated information ought to be published in your publication the following month. I would also request you to verify the information before publishing.

Yours devotedly
Reshma Sinha

Band 7.5 IELTS Letter

Respected Sir,

I am writing to inform you that an article you recently published in your magazine about my hometown contained inaccurate information.

I carefully went through the entire article. I found it very interesting that you wrote about our culture and traditions. I'd like to convey my appreciation for the same. However, the information concerning our city's climate was incorrect. You incorrectly stated that the maximum temperature is 45 degrees Celsius. In point of fact, summer temperatures in our city never exceed 30 degrees Celsius. Since misleading information can have a negative impact on the tourism industry, it is critical that travel publications present an accurate picture of a city. Additionally, false information has the potential to harm our hometown's reputation. Many people who does not know our city might think it is too hot to visit in summers. Also there was nothing mentioned about the humidity.

I respectfully request that you update the information and include it in any subsequent publications. In addition, if you could include a footnote stating that the provided information is incorrect, that would be greatly appreciated.

I anticipate a swift resolution to this critical issue.

Regards,
Paritosh Sinha
