Band 8 IELTS Letter

Dear Mr. Roberts,

I’m really thankful for accepting my application as a Project Manager in your company. The allocated date for commencing my job was 3rd February, however, I won’t be able to join due to some problems that have suddenly come up. It will take approximately two weeks in order to resolve the problem. I’m writing this letter with the hope that you will be kind enough to understand my situation and grant me an extension with respect to the joining date. The proposed joining date is 16th February.

The last working day with my current employer was 25th of January. I have accomplished all the tasks that were allocated to me. Moreover, I have trained the new recruits based on my job role, so that they might not face any further complexities or challenges. In addition to that, this will ease the transition of job switching and make it easier. The major problem that I’m facing is that my company has asked me to work on a project. This new project that I have been assigned will take another two weeks to be completed. They are very much convinced of wanting me to work on this project. Thus, I’m unable to deny their request.

Looking at the circumstances and finding no other way out, I decided to address this letter to you.

Please consider the above mentioned request. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Yours Faithfully,
Natalie

I am extremely apologetic for any inconvenience this may cause. Moreover, I want to assure you that I am doing everything in my power to resolve these problems as quickly as possible. I am eager to start my new role and make a positive contribution to your company. Further, I understand the importance of being fully prepared and focused when beginning a new job.

I anticipate that I will be able to start work in approximately [insert time frame]. In the meantime, I would be happy to discuss any concerns or arrangements that need to be made in light of my delay.
