Letter to a Friend Informing Why You Cannot Accept Invitation of Their Daughter’s Birthday IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. The letter follows an informal approach. It contains three model answers that have three paragraphs namely the introduction, body, and conclusion. The letter must be clear and to the point.
IELTS General Writing Task 1 includes letter writing. It might be in formal, informal, or semi-formal patterns. Candidates need to complete the task within 20 minutes. Topic: A friend who lives in a different city has invited you to his/her daughter's 8th birthday. However, you can not accept the invitation due to some personal reasons.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter:
- thank him for the invitation
- mention why you can not attend the birthday party
- offer to meet him some other day

I hope you're okay and safe!
What about your family? I'm thrilled that you invited me to your daughter's eighthbirthday party. When I receive an invitation letter, I am ecstatic. Because of this, I would like to give a gift together with this letter to express my graduation.
In reality, I had to go to the airport to pick up my brother on the day he finally returned to America. After living there for six years, I was unable to attend the party event. Along with this, we're planning to throw a family gathering to greet him. I'm hoping you can relate to my predicament.
However, I will travel to your area on August 16 to attend a business convention regarding my new marketing tactics. I'd like to encounter you as well as your family if you're available. On that day, in addition to my family, our close buddy Minaj will also travel with me. Therefore, we made the decision to spend the evening at a recently opened five-star hotel in your town. We will enjoy this occasion even more if you bring your family. My best wishes and blessings to the little angel of yours.

I hope everything is going well. I'm delighted to learn that your boy has completed her eighth year, and I'm surprised at how quickly time has gone by. I appreciate you inviting me and considering me on this extremely momentous day in your life. Though I would have loved to participate, I will be unable on January 30.
I have a workplace event that I have to join remotely, therefore that is why I won't be able to go to this party. As a member of the organizing committee, I will be in charge of a few areas throughout the five days that are set for the end of the month. I really apologize for this.
I would love to see you if you happen to be free after this event, as I will be able to take some few days off. Please inform me. Dear Derrios,
How are you and your family? I hope everyone is in good health. It was wonderful to hear from you, and I can't believe Mania is almost eight years old! It seems like she has developed so quickly. Happy birthday to her, and I appreciate you having me at this wonderful event. I'm truly sorry, but I'm unable to attend Mania's birthday celebration because of work requirements the following week. The issue is that since I was promoted to assistant manager a few months ago, the workload has increased significantly. I've been promised by the office management that I would soon have an assistant, but until then, I won't have much time to myself.
Next summer, when I want to stay in your house for a few days. Maybe I can come see you. I'd appreciate it if you could post some birthday pictures on Facebook so I can see the celebration. I have a birthday gift to give Mania. I am sending the birthday gift with this letter. I hope to meet you and Mania soon.
Anyway, I have to wrap up today. I do hope we can meet up throughout the summer, so once again, thank you for your kind invitation.
