Topic: In many countries the proportion of older people is steadily increasing. What problems will this cause for individuals and society?. Suggest some measures that could be taken to reduce the impact of ageing population.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

The proportion of elderly people growing at a much faster rate than the number of babies born is a worldwide trend. In this essay, I'll talk about the negative effects on society and offer some possible solutions.

First and foremost, one of the primary outcomes of this tendency is a rapid decline in the labor force. This results in a significant decrease in state budget income primarily derived from taxes paid by the working population. Since older people increases, the working people decreases since older people have already retired. This reduces the tax that the state will get which will inturn reduce the economy of the country. In addition, statistics indicate that the majority of European nations are "aging," or having a higher death rate than birth rate. Those nations that do not take immediate action to combat the trend may face a demographic crisis.

However, government initiatives to encourage population growth may prove to be the most effective solutions. State officials may create specialized support programs for newlyweds who are planning to start a family. For instance, citizens of some nations receive substantial financial assistance when they have children. In addition, they are being given money that they can use to buy a house. Additionally, this money can be saved for the baby's future tuition coverage. Immigration process enforcement is yet another approach to resolving the problem. For instance, skilled immigrants significantly boost a nation's employment market. They begin contributing to the treasury by entering the country and working.

In conclusion, the growing older population is a serious problem that is reducing the active population and posing challenges in the labor market. Nonetheless, government programs that encourage high immigration and birth rates can mitigate the negative effects.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

The increasing older population has been the subject of intense debate in recent years. It is true that, when compared to the population of young people, the elderly population is expanding at an exponential rate. In this essay, we will talk about the problems that the country is facing and the things that can be done to reduce the number of elderly people.

First and foremost, an increase in the number of elderly people in a nation increases expenditures of the government. They are provided free healthcare and other assistants, though they are not earning. Second, since the majority of elderly people do not want to work, this will reduce the government's tax revenue. Additionally, given that the majority of factories can't function without workers, no new business would want to establish a manufacturing facility in a nation lacking in young workers.

The elderly population can be reduced in a number of ways. Immigration is one strategy that some nations can use to bring in young, talented people. To give an example, Canada and Australia are two nations that have demonstrated that immigration not only helps the country's economy but also helps increase the number of young people. In addition, when hiring for government positions, parents with children may be given preference. In addition, it is possible to provide children with free education and pocket money so that they do not have to worry about the financial burden of having a child.

In conclusion, having a higher proportion of elderly people is a serious issue for nations, and measures like immigration, free education, and some kind of preference in government jobs can be taken to encourage more people to have children.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

In developed nations, where higher living standards, improved health care, and a tranquil lifestyle significantly increase longevity, the phenomenon of an aging population is gaining ground. Some people believe that this trend will eventually pose a threat to society due to a lack of young labor resources. I believe that this will cause problems to the society. In this essay, I have discussed all the points and how to overcome this.

First of all, it is thought that people have more fun with their lives the longer they live. The idea of living a comfortable life in one's final years without having to worry about dying is wonderful after years of hard work and contribution. This is the potential risk of a significant waste of money going into welfare, which could make the government irrational given how many responsibilities they already have. Older people are also not able to do hard work and labour jobs. The works like construction, cleaning, building, and many more. Wherever there is physical labour involved, older people are not capable of those works. We all know that all industries require such labour force without which the country will not be able to go ahead and develop. Young people play sports and represent the country infront of the world. This will not be possible if there are more older people than younger.

It's possible that government efforts to boost population growth will be most successful. State officials may develop specialized family planning support programs for newlyweds. They are also receiving funds that they can use to purchase a house. This money can also be saved for the baby's tuition coverage in the future. Enforcement of the immigration process is yet another strategy for dealing with the issue. For instance, skilled immigrants significantly increase employment opportunities in a nation. By entering the country and working, they begin making contributions to the treasury.
