First, the suitable area for the igloo construction is located. Break up the blocks of tightly packed snow with a specialized snow saw. The igloo's foundation is constructed with big blocks, which are then flattened along their edges and stacked in a circular upwards. These blocks are almost the same in measure; this ensures a perfect igloo construction. The final space on top is covered with an oversize block to create a dome. And an entrance is then created by a hole being dug underneath the circular wall.

The igloo is then covered with loose snow to fill in all the cracks and openings. This ensures that the snow blocks are bound together instead of breaking down. The igloo's interior walls are then manually smoothed, and a snow block covering is used to make the entrance. In order to ensure that the igloo is properly ventilated, air holes are lastly drilled into the wall and roof. The igloo is smoothed from inside and out.
