Topic: Describe a Risk that You Have Taken

Model Answer 1

What it is?

There are numerous activities that carry risks on a regular basis. I would want to start by telling you about a situation where I took a chance and it paid off for me. I aspired to work outside of the original country once I had received my diploma. My parents took some convincing, but eventually they consented to send me to Canada as I requested. Additionally, after going through all the steps, I waited for my visa, and at the conclusion of the wait, I was rejected. After reviewing and taking into account all of the earlier concerns indicated in the denial, we soon submitted a second application. Unfortunately, due of the temporary stay, I was turned down a second time.

Why you took it?

To be honest, I did want to get out there, make a profession, and be successful. I therefore didn't give up hope. I was advised to give up by everyone around me, but I persisted and applied for the job a third time without hesitation. The biggest danger was that we took out a loan, and for the earlier rejections I had already incurred significant costs for the visa application process. The second tie's medical care, and college application fees.

What the result was?

The best institution in Canada, Seneca, has started to offer online courses. Also, if I'm rejected a third time, I'll have to pay for those courses. It is which will make it tough for my parents to repay the loan despite all of these expenses. I finally received my visa after making a third application and enduring such a long wait. The largest risk was that we obtained a loan, and because of past rejections. It is for this, I had already invested substantial expenditures for the visa application procedure. Medical expenses and college application costs tied for second place.

How you felt about it?

The waiting paid off in spades since it was simply overpowering. My parents were also quite thrilled, which made me very happy. My passport was taken for stamping two to three working days after I sent my request. Also, I couldn't contain the joy on my face. After getting my passport stamped, I ordered my tickets and began packing. Despite the fact that I was turned down twice, waiting is still worthwhile since wonderful things take time to materialise. Also if you don't give up on your dreams, they will undoubtedly come true.

Model Answer 2

What it is?

The most efficient technique for students to tailor their educational experience to their interests, in my opinion, is not yet known. One free method of learning, for instance, is through various artistic mediums like music and movies; people can select whichever genre they enjoy. A different approach would be to take the time to truly study the language of that society; while time-consuming, this approach has great potential. I totally concur with the adage "Nothing great comes without risk." A person must take risks in many different circumstances during his or her life. In my life, I had to make dangerous decisions due to a number of situations and ups and downs. I'll talk about one particular experience that changed my life and had an impact on it.

Why you took it?

People told me to choose a career while I was in standard twelve so that it would later become my profession. Well, back then, things were tough. Although I studied science, I wasn't particularly interested in the topic because I preferred literature. My competitive exam results were fairly good, allowing me to enrol in a government institution with a CSE major. One free means of learning, for example, is through diverse artistic mediums such as music and movies. People can choose whichever type they choose. An alternative strategy would be to devote the necessary time to thoroughly studying the language of that community. While time-consuming, this strategy has a lot of promise.

What the result was?

The time had come for me to make a decision. Due to its safe career, choosing CSE was a sensible decision. Although my mother had always encouraged me to pursue my hobbies, I also wanted to make her happy. She found engineering to be enjoyable. The deal for CSE was about to expire, so I had to decide quickly. I then took the action I believed would endanger my life. I used the long term as a deciding factor.

How you felt about it?

The underlying cause of risk-taking, in my opinion, is the hormonal differences between the sexes. I felt really grateful to myself for taking the risk because I had carefully considered it and am now doing what I enjoy. My mother provided me the ability to continue doing what makes me happy, and she was the greatest inspiration in my risk. I believe that taking chances might put you in one of three situations. It is the same position, a favourable scenario, or an unfavourable situation. However, one will succeed in their endeavours as long as they are content and happy with the decisions they make.

What it is?

The hormonal differences between the sexes, in my opinion, are the fundamental cause of risk-taking. Personality also contributes to the explanation. Girls are meant to be more docile and quiet, whereas guys are encouraged to be powerful, fearless, and rough. Boys who take risks demonstrate their strength and power. They also demonstrate that they can defend their female equivalents. They feel satisfied as a result of this. Every big decision we make in our life has consequences in some form. There are very few decisions that do not involve some level of risk. Alternatives with higher levels of risk, however, also provide better returns. I once turned down a job offer that seemed quite lucrative because I wanted to take a bigger risk, and it paid off nicely.

Why you took it?

I believe that in order to decrease risk-taking, parents should teach their kids how to evaluate risks. Some risks are risky, but others are worth taking. However, young people might not have enough real-world exposure to know when it is appropriate to push themselves beyond their comfort zones. They also do’t know when it is not appropriate to make a move also. Therefore, parents should provide instances of various risks and ask their kids to consider the repercussions. Children gain the ability to weigh hazards thoroughly before taking them and to recognise which risks to avoid as a result of this. After receiving my Bachelor's degree, I began my search for a full-time job, but the experience I had at the time was essentially nonexistent. Despite the fact that my college's recruitment office brought in a number of employers looking to hire recent graduates, I was unable to locate a position. I was not being able to find myself a position that was a good fit for me.

What the result was?

After over two months of looking, I stumbled across a firm that was actively recruiting freshers for the post of Business Development Executive. Considering the amount of experience needed to qualify for it, it was a well-paid position. I submitted an application for this job and got chosen. However, I made the decision to decline the offer at the last minute since I wanted to work as a content writer instead. It is for this decision to take the risk, I was able to achieve my accomplishment.

How you felt about it?

Although at the time the choice appeared hazardous, it ultimately proved to be the right one. My selection as a Content Writing intern at a prominent firm soon led to my being offered a full-time career there. The entire experience proved to be a crucial lesson for me, and I discovered that despite difficulties, we shouldn't lose sight of our objectives. Life is full of surprises, you know. Since we may never be sure when a risky situation will arise, planning is essential. For instance, we never know when we'll run across one of the many intoxicated drivers who are out there. Therefore, reading some books or articles on similar circumstances can at least give us an idea of how we should respond in such a situation. Life is full of surprises.
