Band 8 IELTS Answer

The bar chart shows the number of people using multiple social networking sites for two years including 2014 and 2015 in Canada. The chart starts with no sites, one site, two sites, three, four and five sites. At first glance, the trend is the same in 2014 and 2015.

In the year 2014, 22% of the population used no social networking sites. The number is similar in 2015. No social networking site users were 21%. This number increased for the users of one social networking site. In 2014, one social networking site users were 36% and in 2015, it was 28%. After this, there is a continuous decline in the number of users. In 2014, 23% people used two sites for social networking, which was increased a little bit in 2015 bringing the percentage to 24% of the total population. The number of people using three sites were less, contributing to 12 and 16 percent for 2014 and 2015 respectively. Only 5% of the total population used four sites in 2014 for social networking, which slightly increased in 2015 making only 8%. The least number of people were using 5 sites both in 2014 and 2015. It was just 2% and 4% respectively.

Band 7 IELTS Answer

The bar chart gives an analysis of the number of social networking sites used by people over a range of 2 years. The data is of Canada of the year 2014 and 2015.

The overall representation of the graph shows that the number of people using one website is the highest and 5 websites are the lowest. Also, there was an increase in almost all kinds of sites that the Canadian people used in 2014 and 2015, except for No sites and One site.

If we deep dive, we can see that in 2014, people using one social networking site comprised 36%. This was the highest number of users compared to other social networks at the same time. The one social networking site user in 2015 was 28%. This is also the highest users in 2015. There was a plummet of 8% in that. However, it continued to be a major site, accounting for nearly a third of users. The no site using Canadians were 22% and 21% respectively for 2014 and 2015.

The percentage of people using two sites in 2014 and 2015 were almost similar. The year 2014 contributes to 23% of the population and 2015 contributed to 24% of the population. Canadians who use Three sites occupied 16% in 2015, improved 4% from the previous year. So in 2014, it was merely 12%. There was a minimal increase in the number of Canadians using four and five sites. In 2014, four site users were 5% and in 2015, it was 8%. The number of 5 site users were 2% and 4% in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Band 6.5 IELTS Answer

The bar chart depicts the usage of different social networking sites in Canada between the years 2014 and 2015. Overall, people have more tendency to use more than one social networking site both in 2015 and 2014. At second comes two sites and no sites at third.

We can see that in 2014 more than half of the population, 58% to be precise, used either one or no social networking sites. This number drastically dropped and fell sharply in 2015 to 49%. In 2015, people’s habit of using social networking sites increased with more than 50% of the people using two or more sites. The highest percentage of people were inclined to use only one networking site.
