Band 9 IELTS Answer

The bar graph shows the percentage of highest qualification attained by the working age population for the year 2001-2002. The data shows the degrees for males and females separately. Overall, we can see that the male percentage for GCE A level was the highest and GCSE grade A*-C was achieved mostly by the women. It was also the highest percentage attained among all genres.

Almost 15% of the working men attained Degree or equivalent qualification. The working females are not far behind with 12% of the working-age population. We can see that the lowest percentage goes to the higher educational qualification. The working men and women percentage who received the higher educational qualification are 8% and 9% respectively. Next comes GCE A level or equivalent exam. In this, the percentage of men who received this degree are far more than women. The percentage of men are 28% and the percentage of women are just 15%. In the next grade which is GCSE grade A*-C or equivalent, we can notice just the opposite. The number of women increases in this qualification. 29% of the women has completed this degree as compared to just 18% of the men. This shows that more women continue to pursue higher studies than men. In other qualifications, men and women are almost similar. The percentage of men are 12% while women are 11%.

The most striking fact is that men and women with no qualification is the third highest on the table. They account for 20% of men and 24% of women.

Band 8 IELTS Answer

The data from a survey was done between 2001 and 2002 to find out which Welsh people in working population had earned the highest qualifications. The chart displays the data in a bar diagram form. Men and women are separated from one another with different colours. Overall, males had the highest number of GCE A levels or equivalent, while females had the highest number of GCSE grades A*-C or equivalent.

To be more specific, the percentage of people with a higher education qualification GCE A*-C or equivalent were women and they outnumbered men. However, the gender gap in higher education qualifications was relatively small, at around 3%. In the meantime, this disparity roughly tripled in GCE A grade A*-C.

Males outperformed females in all other criteria. The percentage of men who graduated from GCE A-level or its equivalent was nearly double that of women. There were approximately 13% and 11% of men and women with a degree or equivalent. Other credentials shared a lot of similarities between men and women. It is evident that the proportion of women without qualifications is significantly higher than that of men.

Band 7 IELTS Answer

For the period of 2001-2002, the percentage of the population in working age with the highest qualification is depicted in the form of a bar graph. Male and female population are shown separately in the data. Overall, we can see that the majority of women earned GCSE grade A*-C, while the male percentage at GCE A level was the highest.

Nearly 15% of employed men have a degree or other equivalent qualification. With 12% of the population of working age getting the same degree, working females lag behind. There are 8% and 9% of working men and women with higher education qualifications, respectively. The GCE A level or equivalent exam comes next. In this regard, the proportion of men with this degree is significantly higher than that of women. Women make up just 15% of the population, while men make up 28%. In the following grade which is GCSE grade A*-C or equivalent, we can see the polar opposite. This qualification increases the number of women. Only 18% of men and 29 percent of women have completed this degree. This demonstrates that more women than men continue to pursue higher education. Other qualifications are almost identical between men and women. Women make up 11% of the population, while men make up 12%.

The fact that men and women without qualifications rank third on the list is the most striking one. They make up 24% of women and 20% of men.
