The faculty is awesome and you could reach out for any help at any time during the course. All the faculty members have PHD degrees and many have master's degrees from abroad. They have great experience in the research domain and have good industrial knowledge. There are midsemester and end-semester exams which could be passed easily by paying attention in class and reading the materials provided by the professors.

If you're looking for a top engineering college in India, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy is a great option to consider, better than IIT Dhanbad. Ques
Which is better, NIT Warangal or IIT Dhanbad?

● Top Answer By Suriya Dasgupta on 08 Jun 21

Ans
It depends on whether you want the IIT tag or not. Even if we don’t consider the IIT tag, IIT Dhanbad will definitely be a better option. I say this based on the reviews I git from my friends at both the institutes. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose Dhanbad. Placements: Here are the recent placement statistics of IIT Dhanbad. Highest CTC 48.36 LPA Average CTC 14 LPA Major recruiters Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Sprinkler, etc. The figures given above do not contain recruitment through GATE, UPSE, IES, etc. So, the portrayed figures are lower than actual numbers. Other than the impressive placements, IIT Dhanbad also offers a great academic environment. You will have helpful seniors and professors. It also puts a lot of emphasis on sports and extracurricular activities. Many events are organized on campus around the academic year such as Basant, Lohri, Holi, etc. Overall, you will have a great experience at IIT Dhanbad.

Ques
Which is better CSE at Jadavpur University or CSE at IIT ISM Dhanbad?

● Top Answer By Saurav Bhaskar on 04 Oct 21

Ans
I have a few friends who have completed their B.tech from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and Jadavpur University. Here are some crucial factors you must take into account to understand the difference. Legacy: IIT(ISM), Dhanbad is an IIT which is a central level engineering institute and also one of the oldest colleges in the country. On the other hand, JU still remains a state-level university. Infrastructure: If you have visited both campuses, you can clearly see that the infrastructure at JU is crumbling as compared to that of IIT(ISM). JU has a campus the size of IIT(ISM), Dhanbad's lower ground. Rankings: Although most rankings are biased and paid, JU is always ranked below IIT(ISM) Dhanbad except in the NIRF Rankings. Placement packages: The tougher JEE Advanced criteria ensures the quality of students IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. All branches perform quite well. For example - The highest salary offered in CSE in the year 2017 was 1.05 crore By no means a state-level university can outstand a national-level Institute. IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has an edge over JU in almost all aspects. If you score well enough for IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, there’s no point in thinking about Jadavpur University.

Ques
Which is better, IIT Dhanbad or MNNIT Allahabad for an M.Tech in CSE in terms of placement?

● Top Answer By Nikhil Sharma on 29 Apr 21

Ans
The tags of the colleges are always preferable. Both the colleges are the institute of national importance. Even here, IIT Dhanbad seems to be the best among the two because of the IIT tag. But the actual selection should be based on your branch choice and the best college based on that branch. Wining Institute MNNIT Allahabad is better among the two in terms of the CSE branch. MNNIT Allahabad is India’s first college that implements computer science engineering. Since then, the faculties here have expertise with the teaching strategies, methodologies, syllabus, and placement of CSE. It has made this institute ahead of some new IITs like ISM Dhanbad, IIT Ropar, IIT Gandhinagar, etc. IIT Dhanbad is also a prestigious institute of India but in terms of branches like mining, whereas MNIT is far better in CSE terms. The highest placements for its two departments are below. MNNIT Allahabad branch Average Package Highest Package CSE INR 12.66 LPA INR 45 LPA IT INR 11.78 LPA INR 29.96 LPA In the past, an MNITian had bagged a package of INR 1.34 crores offered by Facebook. MNNIT Allahabad is an esteemed college. It is ranked among the top three NITs in terms of the CSE branch.

Ques
Which is better, NIT Calicut ECE or IIT Dhanbad EE?

● Top Answer By Rishabh Chauhan on 25 Aug 21

Ans
EE at IIT Dhanbad is unquestionably superior to NIT Calicut’s ECE. According to some of my friends studying at IIT Dhanbad, you should never lose the chance of studying at IIT Dhanbad.  So far as the branch is concerned, there is a minor difference.  ECE is more concerned with IT than EE.  But it doesn't matter if you're in a prestigious institution.  In reality, almost all branch students learn to code and apply to tech companies at IIT. You will have plenty of opportunities to learn whatever you want at the institution.  It is entirely up to you whether you want to work in core companies or IT companies after completing EE. Tabulated difference between these two institutes to give you a clear picture: Categories ECE from NIT Calicut EE from IIT Dhanbad Total course fee 5.48 lakhs 8.75 lakhs Top recruiters ABB, Amadeus, amdocs, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Auto, CADENCE, Cap Gemini Adobe, Amazon.com, Bridgestone, Cap Gemini, | Facebook, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Google Average salary package 8.1 LPA 9 LPA Highest salary package 36 LPA 40 LPA At the end, I just wanna say one thing that, IIT is a brand in itself, so this will undoubtedly assist you in some situations. So, if I were in your shoes, I would go with IIT Dhanbad without any hesitation.

Ques
Which college would be better, IIT, Dhanbad (CS), IIT BHU (Electrical), or MNNIT Allahabad (CS)?

● Top Answer By Ankit Sharma on 15 Apr 23

Ans
All three colleges, IIT Dhanbad, IIT BHU, and MNNIT Allahabad, are well-reputed and offer quality education in their respective fields. However, the choice between the three ultimately depends on your personal preferences and career goals. Here are some points to consider: IIT Dhanbad (CS): Pros: One of the top-ranked engineering colleges in India. Strong faculty with research expertise in various fields of Computer Science. Good industry collaborations and placement opportunities. Cons: Relatively new compared to some of the other IITs, so may not have as established an alumni network. IIT BHU (Electrical): Pros: One of the oldest and most prestigious engineering colleges in India. Strong faculty with research expertise in various fields of Electrical Engineering. Good industry collaborations and placement opportunities. Cons: As an Electrical Engineering program, it may not have as many opportunities to specialize in Computer Science. MNNIT Allahabad (CS): Pros: One of the top-ranked NITs in India. Strong faculty with research expertise in various fields of Computer Science. Good industry collaborations and placement opportunities. Cons: May not have as established an alumni network compared to the older IITs. Based on the above factors, it would be recommended to consider IIT Dhanbad (CS) as the best option among the aforementioned colleges.

Ques
Is Jadavpur University better than ISM Dhanbad?

● Top Answer By Anumita Ghose on 03 Nov 21

Ans
Both Jadavpur University and ISM Dhanbad are reputed institutes. ISM was already quite reputed across India and after getting the IIT tag, the institute has improved quite significantly.  If you are getting branches like CSE/ECE at JU and offbeat branches at IIT ISM, then you should definitely choose JU.  Another advantage of choosing JU is the negligible fee. For a 4 year long B.Tech you will need to pay only around 10,000.  So, take these factors into consideration, and choose according to your convenience.

Ques
Which IIT is best for CSE, IIT Patna or IIT Dhanbad?

● Top Answer By Amish Chaturvedi on 22 Apr 22

Ans
IIT Patna is better for CSE. It has a great competitive coding culture. The official computer club of IIT Patna is NJACK. It is a thriving community of coders. They organize monthly contests to promote the coding culture further.  The strong competitive coding culture of the institute is one of the reasons, this branch has a good placement record. IIT Patna CSE average package had been INR 26.95 LPA, for the 2022 campus drive.  The research interface for CS is nothing sort of phenomenal. IIT Patna has signed an MoU with Flipkart for joint research in Artificial Intelligence-Natural Language Processing-Machine Learning.  The institute added two new branches related to CSE, i.e. BTech AI and Data Science, BS in Mathematics and Computing. So, the overall technical culture on campus is going to advance.

Ques
What should I opt for, mathematics and computing at IIT Dhanbad or computer science at IIT Palakkad?

● Top Answer By Ankit Sengupta on 31 May 21

Ans
You should choose the branch in which you are really interested. Here are a few factors which may help you in choosing.  IIT Palakkad is a fairly new IIT, whereas IIT Dhanbad is an old reputed institute with an extensive alumni network. If you are genuinely interested in Mathematics, then you should definitely go for MnC. I have some friends in CSE at IIT Dhanbad and their curriculum does not cover Mathematical topics much.   IIT Palakkad being a new institute will need time to offer infrastructural facilities at the same level as IIT Dhanbad.  Another thing that you need to note is that MMC is an integrated course with a 5-years duration. While CSE at IIT Palakkad will be a Bachelors’s degree or a dual degree. where you need to study for a minimum of 4 or 5 years.  Hence, it all depends on you which branch you are more interested in and which will be easier for you.

Ques
Which is the better option for me? Mtech IT from IIIT Allahabad or Mtech CSE from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad?

● Top Answer By Ahana Majumdar on 19 Jun 21

Ans
The first thing you should consider is whether you want to pursue a Ph.D. or want a job after the completion of the course. I have a few friends at IIT ISM and I can tell you there are very few good faculties for CSE if you want guidance regarding Ph.D. For any information regarding the faculty and research projects of IIIT Allahabad, you can visit both their faculty profile page and set a legitimate comparison with IIT (ISM). Here are some other parameters of IIT (ISM), which you may find useful. Placements: The job prospects are increasing every year and the change is noticeable since its conversion to IIT. The institute also had a new director from IIT Kanpur. There also was a significant change in the placement cell, and the M.Tech placement stats have been kept under consideration, alongside B.Tech only after that. The latest stats are as follows, No. of Students Placed 31 out of 58 Average CTC INR. 14 LPA Highest CTC INR 43.31 LPA Top Recruiters Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Ernst & Young Moreover, the summer and 6-month internships have also been good over the past few years. For instance, the 2021 passing out batch has received several summer intern offers from companies like Goldman Sachs, Amazon, and Microsoft. If you prepare for the coding session interviews from the beginning of the 1st year, then you are more likely to obtain internship opportunities. You can convert it to PPO before the placement season begins. Other Parameters: There is another thing you should consider. It is the number of students from either CSE or IT in B.Tech + M.Tech taking part in the placement season, A total of 372 students participated in the placement drive from IIIT Allahabad while 203 participated from ISM Dhanbad. However, there might not be a significant difference between companies that visit both institutes. Fewer participants in placements mean less competition. So, I will suggest that you take all these factors into consideration and also do your own research. Consider other options too, if you have any.
