well my reason for choosing this course has nothing to do with my interest as most of the students here would go into software-oriented firms, it's just my branch is a circuital branch and all the companies are open for us unlike the core branches faculty ratio is not something you should worry about it it really good tho the teaching is upto the mark but there is an issue due to the language barrier I suppose ...but it won't matter your not in school anymore what else did you expect

I have interested in civil because I can see clearly and physically in civil engineering. Rather than CSE and other branches. The student/faculty ratio is 10. All faculty have Ph.D. and other degrees. In this college, exams are classified into class tests (2 per sem) class tests mid sem and according to others, College end sem is conducted.

It was circuital which gives us many opportunities at the time of placements unlike non-circuital. 1:6 teacher-student ratio. Many teachers have completed their PhD and are into research. Some teachers are too knowledgeable. We have 2 cycle tests and an end sem with some assignments included. But it's easy to pass as it is relative grading is used for courses with students of more than 10.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is the course that I got based on my jee percentile, so I chose this course. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:7, and this is the same for all the branches. All the faculty have doctorates, and to be frank, the teaching of a lot of faculties is not that great. They assume we know everything and don't do everything properly and give a lot of work without considering the mental health of students and this affects us a lot. Exams are also very much difficult and sometimes questions were given on some advanced topics which weren't even taught.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because it is a circuital branch where all companies will be opened for circuital branches. There are a total of 125 students in the branch with 18 faculty members. All the faculty have a minimum qualification of a Ph.D. and have good knowledge of the subject. In a semester each subject has 3 major exams(including 2 minor exams and 1 end sem) and 2 assignments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually, the course curriculum in our college is quite good. And my branch is instrumentation and control engineering which is a circuital branch. And hence it is the best possible branch that I could get here .so I chose it. And joining here I can say it is one of the top 4 branches in nit Trichy followed by cse, ece, eee. our faculty are very good and experienced and we have lots of work to learn ourselves. Because the faculty won't say everything in class just they want to make us learn ourselves. There will be 2 term exams will be conducted for every semester within a month gap between them. And it is not that difficult to pass but the scoring top is quite difficult here.

I got Production Engineering at NIT Trichy. Honestly, I was only getting this branch with my rank so I chose college over a branch. There is 2:60 faculty: student ratio and the teaching style is pretty boring and as expected. They did conduct term exams on time and completed everything on time.

NIT Trichy: 227 answered questions

Ques
My JEE main rank is 10000. Can I get computer science in NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Rohan Khare on 27 Feb 23

Ans
I know I might sound blunt, but you cannot get into NIT Trichy CSE unless you belong to a reserved category. The expected opening and closing rank for the B.Tech CSE course at NIT Trichy for the academic session 2022 was around 400 to 5300. This year there might be only a slight difference. However, your rank of 10000 has no chance considering the cutoff. Don’t get discouraged as here is the bright side. You might not get into NIT Trichy CSE but you surely might get into NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur which are quite good institutes if not as good as Trichy. In fact, NIT Jalandhar was ranked among the top 5 NITs in NIRF rankings (placement-wise). You can't get NIT Trichy's CSE, but don't worry you can still get CSE at NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, etc. Believe me, they are also good institutions. Talking about NITJ it was ranked among top 5 NITs in NIRF rankings placement-wise. Another option is to apply at your home state institute. For instance, if you are from Delhi, go for DTU or NSIT. While the choice of Institute does matter, the majority depends on your own persistence.

Ques
What marks do you need to get into NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Vivek Goyal on 26 Aug 22

Ans
Applicants need at least 60% aggregate marks in 10+2, in order to get admission at NIT Trichy. This is the prerequisite for applying.  For final admission, students are shortlisted based on their JEE Main rank. NIT Trichy cutoff depends on several factors, such as branch, domicile, student category, competition, etc. The required cutoff for CSE and ECE is relatively higher, as most students opt for these branches. In 2021, the closing cutoff for CSE was 793.

Ques
What is the craziest story you have heard from NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Vaani Singh on 22 Mar 21

Ans
This story took place in the first year of my sister’s course. During the first semester exams, the area witnessed heavy rain for about 4 to 5 days. Due to the rains, the grounds of the campus and the area around the hostel were completely flooded. With cows on the campus, their primary source of nutrition had vanished. One of my sister’s friends forgot to lock the room door on the day of the chemistry exam. When he returned, he looked around the room to check for his belongings. Bed, clothes, books, cow, cupboard. A cow! Truth to be told, there really was a cow in a corner of his room eating away at his books. The first book to be nibbled page by page was PW Atkins Physical Chemistry, an essential chemistry textbook. It seemed like the cow knew how to eat a book as it was eating it page by page. It had started with the cover and was on page 176 by the time my sister’s friend reached. It was of course imperative to get the bovine out of the room. Looking at the commotion, a small crowd had also gathered and the cow refused to leave despite multiple attempts. Poking with a broom didn’t help either. What was worse than it had switched over to eating Richard Feynman’s Lectures on Physics and these three books were collectively worth INR 2500. My friend clearly didn’t want to bear that sort of damage. Finally, someone grabbed the cow’s tail which somehow got it to leave and out of the hostel. The cow definitely found these two subjects easier to digest than students. It was a wild day. They even found white cow dung a few days later.

Ques
How was your experience at NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Murali Jha on 01 Mar 22

Ans
The campus life at NIT Trichy is great. A few of my friends graduated from NIT Trichy. Here are their experiences in brief. Hostels:  The hostel rooms are spacious compared to other NITs and IITs. In the first year, you will have to share a room with 2 other students. Students of other years are given double occupancy rooms. Wi-fi speed in hostel rooms is decent.  Hostels like Zircon, and Amber are situated far away from the activity zone and lecture halls, but you will get used to cycling your way eventually.  Student Activities:  From technical, robotics, management, product design, entrepreneurship, to haking, web design, automobile, you will find a wide range of clubs to join. There are also organizations like AIESEC, Toastmasters, TedX, etc.  Fests:  Festember - the cultural fest and Pragyan - the techno-management fest these two are the inter-college fest of NIT Trichy. You will get to gain relevant experience by working with the organizing team.  Academics:  Since it is the top NIT, you will get access to a lot of resources. There’s a computer center with 24*7 access. There is also a SCIENT building where you can complete projects on your own. You will have access to machines and computer systems.  Faculty:  NIT T has a lot of well-qualified and experienced professors who will go out of their way to help you if you approach them.  Labs:  Although the labs are well-equipped with modern instruments, you won’t get to do experiments on your own.  Diverse Student Crowd:  The student crowd is diverse. Since it is located in Tamil Nadu, almost 50% of the students are from Tamil Nadu. Around 30-35% of the students are from Andra Pradesh or Telangana. The remaining are from all over India.  Living on the NIT Trichy campus is an enriching experience. You will get good opportunities to learn and develop as a person.

Ques
Which has better hostel conditions, NIT Trichy, or NIT Warangal?

● Top Answer By Sejal Gupta on 07 Mar 23

Ans
NIT Warangal provides very good hostel facilities to first-year students among most of the Engineering students in India. The approximate cost for a hostel ranges from 1.8-2k. Second-year students are required to stay in the Old Blocks which is not as good as the hostels of First-year students. For Third Year students, an average hostel costing 1k is provided with pretty decent facilities. At a glance, we can say that the hostel facilities of NIT Warangal are better than that of NIT Trichy.

Ques
Is NIT Trichy better than IIT Mandi?

● Top Answer By Tridiv Banerjee on 25 Feb 22

Ans
Yes NIT Trichy is better than IIT Mandi.  NITT is the best NIT in the country. It is better than all new IITs. In recent years, it has been giving good competition to some of the old IITs as well.  NITT has a great placement record. In last year’s placement, the average CTC offered was INR 6.5 LPA. The highest CTC offered was INR 42 LPA. Other than placement statistics, NIT Trichy is well known for its technical fest. Pragyan the technical fest of NITT has been ranked among the best in the nation. Being a new IIT, IIT Mandi still doesn’t have a good infrastructure. It also doesn’t have good industry recognition. NIT Trichy on the other hand is old and well-reputed in the corporate world.

Ques
What are the disadvantages of NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Aditi Ghose on 14 Mar 22

Ans
NIT Trichy has a locational disadvantage. It is located far away from the city. Recruiting companies have to spend around 3-4 days hiring students from NIT Trichy. This usually puts NIT Trichy off the recruitment list for some companies. Also, the start-up culture isn’t quite developed at NIT Trichy.  Other than these minor disadvantages, NIT Trichy is a fairly good college with decent academics, facilities, and placements.
