What is salary of Electrical Enginners from NIT Trichy?
Posted On - Sep 1, 2021NIT Trichy does not release official branch-wise statistics so I contacted my friends there to get an idea of the salary offered to Electrical Engineering students from NIT Trichy. The first friend claimed the placement percentage of the branch to be around 92.4% with the highest salary package offered at around 45 LPA and the average salary package offered in the range of 6.5 LPA-20 LPA. He claimed that the top recruiting companies were Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and DE Shaw.
Another friend offered a similar insight into the placement scenario of Electrical Engineering at NIT Trichy. He claimed the highest package to be 40 LPA whereas the lowest salary package offered to be around 5 LPA, and the average salary package around 10 LPA. He further stated that 60-70% of students were offered internships.
It’s important to note that Electrical Engineering students are not placed only in the core sector but also in the software, marketing, and digital graphic sector. So ultimately the salary one will be receding depends upon one's capability, skills, and interests.
According to the NIT Trichy Placements, Electrical Engineering students usually get salary packages in the range of INR 5-10 LPA. While highest CTC offered goes up to around INR 20 LPA. The top job role offered to Electrical Engineering students is Electrical Machine Designing. Bajaj, Tata, GAIL, HPCL, etc. are some of the major recruiters for the branch.

- Electronics Engineering - The electronics domain has a salary range of around 10-15 lakhs per annum and the companies from the electronics domain include Sandisk, Taxes Instrument, Qualcomm, Nvidia, and many more.
- Electrical Engineering- The electrical domain has an average salary range of around 6 to 7 lakhs per annum at the initial stage. The companies from the electrical domain include Reliance, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, etc.
- Software Engineering- The field of electrical isn't only limited to the core domain rather it offers job opportunities in the software field also. In the software domain, the salary offered is around 5 to 10 lakhs per annum and the companies include Bank of America, Fidelity, and many others.
Lastly, keep in mind that if you can get internships in reputed companies during your 3rd year, it is the best way to land a job offering a higher salary package. These salary packages can range from 25-30 lakhs per annum. So keep working hard to secure the finest job.
